A very small percentage of the stuff I look for on Aliexpress is AC powered these days anyway. Almost everything charges by USB...

Just buy from the high volume sellers. It's the same white label stuff from Amazon. They are cheaper because of the inconvenience return procedure. Not always cheaper though. I find in maybe 20% of the weird stuff I cross search on amazon/ali/temu, Amazon has better price and options. Granted I haven't brought any food from ali, but if you want to insert an ali sex toy into yourself, it's fine.

The high volume plug in usb crap is the same you’d pay 5x for on Amazon from belkin or whatever. This $2 MagSafe car mount I just got is exactly what I wanted. I don’t even know that I’ll plug it in the car but just in case, magnet strong af all I was looking for to support my 14 that keeps falling off the old name brand on road trips

There are some youtube channels I like to watch that rip apart chargers to look at the construction and evaluate the safety https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvuQy_J4sNM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSNN1j77x9M DiodeGoneWild is probably the better channel, going so far as tear down the transformer windings. The main reason a $1 phone charger will kill you is bad insulation between the primary and secondary winding of the transformer, some of them end up sending live mains voltage straight through to the usb port. That said, even inside the fake cheapo chargers the circuit isn't always horrible. They are usually only let down by a bad quality transformer. I have bought a couple of ugreen and baseus chargers from aliexpress and trust them not to burn my house down, as long as you spend $30 instead of $3 they should be ok. The challenge is avoiding the resellers selling the cheap fake crap at a huge markup to make them seem more legit... I think Amazon has that problem too.

If you buy from actual manufacturers (like Mi, UGreen or Beseus) via their own Aliexpress stores then it will be just as safe as buying from actual retailers, even retailers in countries with actual consumer protection laws. Just beware of no-name mains stuff sold by Shop2299883776 as they will be a roll of the dice from fine to time bomb.

I’ve decided to look for a nice kazoo to see if the bird likes the sound of it, since I can’t hit high notes when whistling but can when humming. He doesn’t get very excited about YouTube videos. Anyway, I followed a link on one of the Kazoos to some sale page and hit this: Who doesn’t need a spare fish bludgeon around the house. loving fish-always coming to your door and talking about their god.

Bored posted:Aren’t there less messy methods? You leave the fish to flop around helplessly in the bottom of the boat. It's trying desperately to breathe yet it's drowning slowly in the clean air. The fish is making little jumps, trying to get over the side of the boat but it can't, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Some fish also have pointy spikes - trying to get the knife in cleanly to dispatch a wildly flailing fish can risk getting you poked. A quick bop to the brainbox either kills or stuns them, then “knife goes in, guts come out.” I’ve never seen a special bat for it though and probably wouldn’t buy one.

As a child I went along on a fishing trip in Alaska and saw that getting a 100+ lbs halibut into the boat involved what I now know is a fish hammer. Also a pistol. I wouldn't have described it as a clean death.

Pure loving counterfeits. I see ads for this bullshit all the time on Facebook. It's one of the few things Facebook will pull down that I've reported. The USPS has recently taken the position of just abandoning mail that have counterfeit stamps detected. The Scott U.S. Specialized stamp catalog keeps track of the counterfeit stamps as well. https://www.uspis.gov/news/scam-article/counterfeit-stamps The USPS doesn't sell discount Forever stamps to anyone. BTW...1st class stamps going up to 66 cents in July.

Oh huh. I don't think I realized Agilent were an HP spinoff. They made microarrays for a while in the aughts, and now do DNA QC instruments that are fairly critical for genome sequencing. I hear their name come up a lot at meetings with the wet lab folks at work.
