Has anyone had success playing some DukeMatch through YANG..? I really just want to see if I've gotten it set up right with the port forwarding etc. I'm using the old build of eDuke32 that has 'working' multiplayer: http://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/synthesis/old/20091203-1551/ the DUKE3D.GRP from the GOG Duke3D Atomic version, and the latest download of YANG: http://yang-online.com/ if there's an easier way of getting this up and running I'm all ears <edit> I'll leave a room open in YANG overnight, leave a message and at least I'll know that bit works - room password is GRENADE NoneMoreNegative fucked around with this message at 23:03 on Nov 21, 2012 |

Minidust posted:Anything I should know before giving Jedi Knight an earnest playthrough? I've set up the enhanced models/textures mod, and a thing that lets you switch weapons with the mouse wheel like a modern FPS. Videos appear to play in a small window but that's no big deal. I assume I should expect some level of jank since it's just old and there's no source port available. When you get to the level where you get your lightsaber, pick it up and then take a break if you can - you think: ok, time to chop some dudes; you get: a level full of pretty much one-hit-kill snipers directly afterwards. Man gently caress that level, I played it the first time around and it's just annoyed me all over again

I played 'Terminator Future Shock' as my first ever mlook+ game and I was stuck on Q-A-CapsLock-S for ages, as it was just a little more relaxed finger spacing to WSAD, but a bunch of games wouldn't take Caps as a movement key and I had to go with the flow

Of all the good things in Quake 1, the change of the nailgun from the Mac10 looking SMG in the early tests to the weird double-barrelled mechanism in the retail release wasn't one of them. Never had love for the NG because of that.

Just needs cropping under the REAL LIFE SUCKS and the bargain roundel deleting and voila! an ideal poster for your cube wall. Also Bundlestars has a deal on Steam keys for Quake I, II and III plus the mission packs, but they're 95% sold out after like two hours out of 24 so they'll not be available much longer.

Third rather than first, but I just saw that Rogue Trooper has a remaster set to launch in a few months. It was a criminally overlooked OG Xbox title that was probably the best TPS I played on the platform (tussling with PSiOps and Mercenaries here), maps and enemies were well-designed and fun to come up against, and it was an excellent use of a less-well known IP from British comics. I'll be sticking a preorder on the Steam page as soon as they add the button.

I’m would guess it came out of the Quake community; from what I remember Quake didn’t ship with a menu option for mouselook but you could enable it in the console from day one. Terminator:Future Shock was the first PC game to do the mouselook thing properly in full polygon 3D, even if it used q-capslock-a-s for the movement instead of WASD.
