When do Rangers pick up in power? Right now it seems like I kill stuff faster if I nuke it rather than using my bow. Generally shots are ~11 dmg each at lvl 23 while spells are hitting for 50-60+. Unless you are 100% specifically headshotting poo poo, ranger dps is all in your melee +nukes. Bow dps blows assholes if you aren't headshotting.

I'm doing the AA on my paladin by capping each defensive tree up to his level, then going back for another level, and rinse repeat.

It may no be optimal but it's fun, and helps mix it up a bit. My mage blows up mobs in the hole for the AA and the paladin just sits there and collects, then i take my ranger to fire and grab a level or two, and repeat.

Goonrush was a blast, but Kodaji's power trip ruined the experience for me. Nonetheless it was certainly a blast. With the game preventing you from wearing raid tier items there's no way in hell I'd consider leveling up...for a raiding game...if I can't legitimately F2P.

I do find it funny that of all the games I've played that are F2P with cash shops, Lineage 2 is by far the most unnecessary. NEVER would have expected that Korean grindfest to hold that honor.

Kodaji was a p. cool dude iirc

Anyone ever had any luck getting an account unbanned? I think I asked this before, but I decided to try my luck with it. I had two accounts, and after I quit back in 2003ish someone got ahold of one of them and got it banned for exploiting.

I got to the point now where I have the account back, but I'm being asked to fill out a "Unban petition" form. Was wondering what the chances are?

As I said earlier in the thread, the account isn't anything spectacular that can't be redone in a week, but I want to have some nostalgia dammit!

I got banned for MQ exploiting back in like, 2006. In 2010 I wanted to dick around a bit so I basically sent an extremely short email to their unban team saying "I did a bad thing. I acknowledge this was outside of EULA. I'd appreciate the opportunity to play with this account again and will abide be the EULA, thanks for your consideration" and I got it unbanned on a 'last-chance' basis. Haven't done anything dumb since and I still use the account regularly.

As long as you own up and explain how you won't act to the manner that got the account banned previously, they are pretty lenient because SOE likes money.

I'm in Copenhagen in Denmark. Yeah, Euros and EverQuest is a rare combo. Back in the day, from 2000 to 2002 when I played hardcore I lived at home and just stayed up all night to play with Americans. For months on end I would stay up until around 9am, then eat breakfast and go to bed. Wake up around 6pm, eat mom's food, then play play play. I was technically signed up to university but burned out on it quickly, so I just played EQ for two years until I thankfully got interested in uni again and quit EQ. :)

I wish that I had rerolled or transferred to Antonious Bayle (EU server) when it opened (in 2001?) so I could have perhaps continued to play in reasonable amounts, but I guess I was too hooked up on a guild to transfer or reroll. I actually rolled a rogue about when it opened (WTF did I roll yet another solo-unfriendly rogue??), which I got to lvl 10 with... still have him there.

My guild exploded in drama around summer 2002, but then I started to hang out with this small, tight-knit crew of cool people and honestly had some of the best times in EQ. We were typically 6-10 people online, and some of them well geared from previous raiding guilds, so we'd do stuff like 1-group HoT (east wing of Temple of Veeshan), do Juggs for spells, do the revamped Cazic Thule for great loot, and such. Very fun, we got a little guild going, did a little small-scale raiding, but then I fell apart. The game also started to feel really empty and cold, particularly if you didn't have the guild to raid, there wasn't much to do in those days. Looking back I don't really have super fond memories of EQ at all times, but it just feels so homely now. :)

There was a Euro guild, Caer Cadarn, on my original server (Vazaelle) and they were a powerhouse; they actually forced the US guilds to raid at poo poo hours to get spawns. They used that timezone to their advantage on spawns and had #1 in progression locked up until the end of PoP when they finally flamed out.

Any chance that anyone could copy a BoC for me? Never owned one and I am keen to try a ranger. I would also love a Cloak of Flames simply for the reason that I have killed Sev/Talendor 30+ times and never had one drop, even though supposedly they can from both of those pricks.

Fake Edit: Oh, just remembered... I actually have a White Dragonscale Cloak (the White Dragon Skin still drops, but it is *very* rare) on one of my Luclin mules. Took me a long time to find out how to do the "new" quest for it, but it is droppable, non-attuning, and fantastic for any priest/int-caster until the low 60s (has improved damage on all nukes up until 60, which is rare in lower-level gear). My (now) 81 wizard wore it for a long time (relatively speaking) and I would be happy to duplicate it for anyone who fancies it.

I'll hook you up with a Cloak of Flames. Also, for anyone wanting monk/beastlord stuff, I have a pretty drat good assortment of monk twink poo poo.
