Has anyone noticed either stick on their tablet being slightly off-center? I'm trying to play ZombiU but unless I flick the right stick to the left first I start rotating very slowly to the right when I let go of it. I swear I can rotate right faster than I can rotate left, too, but that might just be placebo.

Should I return it? :smith:

I bought that Nano Assault game on the Wii U eShop or whatever the gently caress it's called, partly because I'd seen people posting about it here and mostly because I wanted to see how the shop worked. Nice that they let you use points or just pay the exact amount, no overage bullshit like with XBox Live.

I've decided that Nano Assault reminds me of Street Fighter 2010 from my glory days as a kid in more ways than one:

- The whole 'exit the level on time after beating the baddies or you lose anyway' thing
- Being really fuckin weird :psyduck:
- Being HARD AS HELL seriously the perspective shifts give me a headache :(

Fun game though. Being fully playable on the tablet is a definite plus.

Speaking of the tablet, is anyone else finding the battery life on that thing to be very short? I get two, maybe three hours before the battery light goes red, and maybe another half hour before I start getting the pad randomly restarting or whatever.

Do you have a smartphone? Crank up the brightness and then either run on network data or play a ram eating game and tell me how much consistent hours you get.

If the Wii-U got more than three hours, they would probably be losing hundreds of dollars per console on the batteries alone.

Fair point :v: Makes me think that cradle that came in the deluxe I didn't get might have some minor value though. Oh well.

This is the weirdest gamepad glitch, that or I'm missing something obvious. The Wii U and gamepad seem to start up fine, I get to the main menu, but I can't do anything on the pad. The TV, home and power physical buttons respond, as well as all four shoulder buttons, but the touch screen, sticks, pad, and ABY+- buttons don't. Unless I press X to switch the Miiverse and the menu between the TV and pad (yes, X responds); then the sticks and pad and +- start responding again. Resetting the WiiU hasn't helped. No idea if ABY are doing anything in this mode, since they don't do anything anyway.

The gently caress? :psyduck:

(edit) Nevermind, I guess the screen protector came loose and messed about with the touch screen or something. Peeled the drat thing off and the problem went away.

MH3U is the first game that has me playing for longer than an hour at a time on the Wii U. As such I'm starting to get cheesed off at the lousy battery life on the gamepad (yes it's a tablet I know, but damnit my iPad goes like 10 hours or more even playing movies and games, so that's not an excuse). Are there any good third party batteries out yet?

Regarding the hand-holding discussion, I always thought the GTA games do a really good job telling you how to do things in a clear and unintrusive way.

Ended up finding one of these at Frys, so I picked it up. In case anyone was wondering about it, it feels kinda flimsy, like I'm gonna break it when I pull out the stand, but otherwise it seems to work as advertised and what the hell, it was 20 bucks. At least doubled my pad's life to about seven hours, though I didn't really measure it.
