As well as a raging hate boner for FDR. Though that's cause the leaders of the right wing feared people might investigate what got us out of the Great Depression as we go through this recession so they started harping in how he EVILY grew big gubmint so people might not warm back up to things like creating social safety nets or a reasonable tax rate on the rich

So Fox News had an "expert" on about the Muslim take over on Europe on their program the other day. Gotta capitalize on a tragedy while the blood is still warm right? Highlights include

A loving idiot named Steven Emerson posted:

And in Britain, it's not just no-go zones, there are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim where non-Muslims just simply don't go in. And parts of London, there are actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn't dress according to Muslim, religious Muslim attire. So there's a situation that Western Europe is not dealing with.

I mean sure the recent census of Birmingham puts the Muslim population at about 11-15% but who lets facts get in the way when there are scary brown people to freak out about?

So it turns out that backpack full of stereotypical scary Muslim terrorist stuff along with some pipe bombs found in Georgia last November turned out to be, shockingly, a plant by a a true patriot to show the dangers of muslims. I find it interesting that he isn't being charged with any terrorism related charges, despite the fact that he literally attempted to use terror to force people to think like he does, but instead attempting to damage federal property and presenting false information because he wasn't really a Muslim trying to blow people up but a white conservative male pretending to be one who was going to blow people up. Clearly that makes it not as serious

I wonder if this is even going to be a blip on AM talk radio and Fox or if we're going to be hearing the screeching of false flags

It's still a mystery why the GOP has yet to ditch that plank and let those people gently caress off to create their own party.

Because they can't. The GOP is losing ground because of all the bullshit and hate it preaches. So it continues to try to shift more and more to the right to pick up little niche groups here and there. It's why they lost the last two presidential elections and why they'll lose again in 2016. In order to win in the primaries their canidates have to spout really vile bullshit and bigotry to rally their main bases behind them (born again Christians, tea party, hard right conservatives, insane race war prepers) but when it comes time for wooing the main stream they fall apart because they try to shift into more moderate positions but are stuck trying to do that and not drive away their insane base

I can't help but feel the episode was made because of the Naggers episode of South Park. They had a big spiel at the end of that one about how people who aren't part of a historical persecuted minority group can't understand why hearing a slur word that was created about them in any context hurts when said by someone not from that minority group and I imagine someone pointed out to Terry and Matt how they used gay slur words in their show pretty often. A few seasons later and we get an episode of why it's totally ok to use these slur words for a minority group cause when they say them they don't mean it badly!

The thing with Crowder reminds me of everyone else that goes that far down the right wing hole; they can't seem to feel any other emotion other then hate anymore. Other people feel differing emotions but for right wingers it seems to be just varying levels of hate. His aunt dies but instead of feeling sad he feels hate about socialized medicine. I've talked to right wingers that even having something amazing happening to them is still just a lesser level of hate.
