Injustice is the best iOS game I think I've ever played. I haven't had the virtual heroin like this in a while. Should I be worried about hitting a paywall? Honestly I don't even care, take my money.

INJUSTICE - Gods Among Us advice needed:
I ragequit for a while after getting my rear end kicked repeatedly by Sinestro in that one boss fight, but I'm back into this game after the latest version fixed it. Right now my A-team consists of:
Superman lv. 29
Superman Regime lv. 29
Doomsday (Gold) lv. 21
What should I do next? The way I see it I can:
1.) Spend credits upgrading my super moves
2.) Keep saving credits to buy the discounted gold packs, then increase the elite ranking of my existing characters
3.) Keep saving credits to buy the discounted gold packs, then get more gold characters like Batman and Womder Woman
Wonder Woman Regime is awesome. Every block builds her super meter so she ends up using her super a lot.

I'm looking for some more games for my son, he's 7.
At first I was trying to find Kid oriented games for him, but it's pretty obvious that he's got the game genes in force.
I'm tempted to hit him with some seriously complicated poo poo just to see how he fares.
I do, however, want to steer away from a ton of IAP, because at 7 it's just to frustrating to avoid that crap. He likes when I play DOT, but the IAP in thr game is ruthless. I'd rather spring 5 up front for something.

You guys, Ace Patrol is really good. Like, after twenty minutes, this has just shot up to the top of my favorite iPad games of all time list. It's extremely reminiscent of Wings of War/X-wing Miniatures, with what seems like a really great little campaign system where your pilots levels up, gain new maneuvers, and earn upgrades that you can assign to their planes. The campaigns also appear to be either partially randomized or at least branching in some way, as you get to choose between multiple offensive and defensive missions which seem to affect how the front moves.
The IAP stuff is extremely fair as well. The only consumables are cheats, and you can spend around $5 to unlock all the actual content. There's also a $5 ace pack that just unlocks a bunch of pilots with special abilities.
100% agree, I didn't even see this one coming and it's very, very good.
Fantasy Flight, make XWing out of this engine!!

They made a requirement that the device have a compass.

In Ace Patrol, how do you get a POW back? Learned my lesson about putting all my eggs in one murderous basket.
They exchange at the end of every row (Christmas if you want to be precise)
Otherwise you pay .99 to get them back.

You really should be able to save periodically so you don't have to slog through the same tedious launch every drat time you miss your orbit by one pixel or whatever.
Stuck on mission 9 now. No combination of parts will get this stupid station module into orbit with enough fuel left to maneuver around the station.

I'm pretty happy with how kotor plays especially once I figured you could swipe up from anywhere on the screen to move forward (although the whole chat buttons on the right hand side is annoying if you're a lefty and it doesn't seem to be customisable).
I might give BG a go next (hanging out for PST as well) - I'm hoping that the success of AAA ports means that we will break away from the free games with eternally draining IAP mentality.
Whoever holds the license to Fallout 1 and 2 needs to get on the ball and port them to iOS ASAP.

I think Battle of the Bulge added new content recently but I can't remember exactly what.
Xcom is great, I love it. I get some people want the full PC version with exactly the same of everything, but we need to expect some downgrades to performance. This is a tablet after all.

It may be EA, but it's still Popcap. I guess I was expecting a little more out of the latter. Maybe the priced plants are the upgraded versions that you most likely won't use anyway, but that's still a bummer. I'd rather pay $10-20 up front than deal with that poo poo.
Feels like we will be dealing with this poo poo forever. Freemium is just an insanely profitable strategy.
