A ticket came in: Keyboard and Mouse - Need wireless keyboard and mouse for MacBook. I work in DevOps? The sad part is someone probably told him to open this ticket against the DEVOPS project in Jira. I responded to the ticket that we haven't written the keyboard / mouse auto-provisioner service and to open a ticket with the IT Service Desk.

This might be better than the time one of my noc guys sent a dick pic to the cio of our state gov accidentally. To make it worse he then sent an apology email from his work account. Why he had that guys contact in his phone I'll never know.

Kaethela posted:I feel like this is not the proper way to test e911 registration. Yeah, usually you work with the 911 dispatch center by getting transferred to them by a non-emergency line call to your local station. Then you talk to the supervisor or whoever to let them know "number" is making 911 test calls and asking if it is a good time for them because you know, they love testing 911 calls when they have 50 active incidents going on and a rampaging gunman on the loose.

anthonypants posted:Last night like right after 5pm both of our storage processors on our EMC array fell over, which wasn't too catastrophic and everything was up a few hours later. We got EMC to investigate why this happened, and their analysis points to a slow memory leak which built up over the 3+ years of uptime, and they suggest that maybe we should consider updating the firmware once in a while perhaps. I saw a ticket from New Relic that said they messed up the libs on their agent sdk and to fix it use symlinks and they'll fix it eventually. That was over a year ago. This feels about that level of no fucks given.
