Welcome to watching things after the fact in the US! Unless it is something like the TdF where NBC offers an app, the one-off links can be hit or miss here without much alternative. Lots of times right after a stage, someone will post the last hour or two on YouTube and you can catch it before it gets taken down. Mr.Nice usually has a link or so to such a video in his summaries.

Why does he still get to keep the stage wins from the Giro last year? That's exactly when he was caught cheating. Is this common for doping bans?

I forget which cycling website it was, but they did an interview with a company that developed small motors that can be hidden fairly well in the seat post. Said batteries and power can be hidden in a similar way. From afar the bikes where the engine was attached was indiscernible. They report it gives you about 100 watts over what your body is doing. Can't remember anyone actually getting caught though for this.

Looks like it's shaping up where Contador is going to have to do the bulk of the work on the climb. Not sure his teammate is going to be able to pull him up to the peloton before the climb starts.

he1ixx posted:Good post. I also considered that is HR/power telemetry tech from 2003 so who knows how good that was. If I get spikes and lags with my HR monitor in 2015 with brand new tech, I can imagine it was much less accurate over short bursts back then. I don't know what any of this means but it is funny to watch how much people hate Froome in here. I definitely don't get cycling threads. It's from the last time he won the Tour.... Regardless of him being a doper or not what about his racing is fun to watch to you? Ultimately you want to be entertained and he's just boring to watch. This one data point doesn't crucify him, it's just odd. If there was transparency with the sports data it would be much easier to see how much of an outlier it is in perspective. serious gaylord posted:This is the year he gets done isnt it? Dude what do you think has happened in 24 months in HR tech? It's not like this was recorded in the 1980s. There are issues with HR tech getting accurate readings at times but it's not like 2013 is the dark ages.

Some views of Spain are very scenic. Others not so much. I get a kick out of the Universal Sports guys ripping on the camera feeds from time to time. You'd think if some Spanish tourism board is controlling the feed they would want to cut down on the "here's some miles of brown fields" views.
