Honestly though they'll probably factor attacking the dorms as being too risky when the most straightforward (and too realistic/boring/unfun) thing to do would be to use AFO's apparently extensive resources to just buy 100 pounds of simtex, stick a timer on it, and have blackmist plop it into the building somewhere and call it a day.

I feel like asking a hotshot group of young up and coming rescue professionals to sit and wait while one of their team needs rescued is just a flawed way of going about things but on the other hand the fact that their might be a spy among them means that you can't give them information or it might leak and ruin everything.

I dunno. Think about the whole rescue operation. That was a covert operation reliant on careful planning and organisation. You don't want loose cannons in the police, especially not special armed police. One of the themes of BHA is that 'heroes' the institution is distinct from 'heroism' the concept, but the institution's perspective on what the kids did makes sense.

Deku's suicidal compulsion to heroism isn't an unambiguously good character trait and the wreckage of his arms speaks to that. It's just, it's the trait he has, so he doesn't have a choice but to become a hero and try to live up to its possibilities.

but heroes aren't police. Police don't have to make money of product placements and name recognition. every other facet of school life is pulling them in different directions

I can't really think of how technology would help Deku, though it's obvious they'll figure something out. It seems like his power tears his arms up from the inside, so merely absorbing shock wouldn't help much unless he's applying his force to something.

He doesn't break his arms just by using one for all it's that his body can't handle the recoil from hitting things with that much force.

If this is the case, there should be a ton of ways he can use 100% OfA without hurting himself. For example, he could just attack with shockwaves from punching air. Also, there wouldn't be much recoil unless he was hitting something really heavy/strong/hard. Like, if he hypothetically punched a giant teddy bear with OfA, there would only be a limited amount of recoil since the object he's hitting isn't very heavy, solid, or hard.

It also doesn't seem to explain the time he put OfA into the tip of his finger and threw the ball. It still hosed his finger up badly, even though he wasn't really "hitting" the ball, and was instead sort of "pushing" it (which is what happens when you throw something).

The impression I've always gotten is that just exerting that much strength makes his muscles rip apart and bones break, whether he's hitting something or not. He could punch air with 100% OfA and it would still probably gently caress his arm up.

edit: Another thing supporting my idea is the way his "full cowl" use is portrayed. It consists of him using a safe, limited amount of OfA throughout his whole body, which implies that running more than that through his body would be unsafe and cause damage, regardless of whether he was punching anything.

he's hitting air with huge amounts of force that will break things and you still get an equal yet opposide reaction when you throw a ball if just using one for all badly caused him to break then it would happen as soon as he used it not just when he hit somthing

full cowl takes the 5% or whatever he puts in his arm all over his body making the individual punches much weaker so that the recoil isn't loving him up.

Also, when Midoriya is training with Gran Torino and is first trying out his full cowl thing, he clearly acts like he's in some level of discomfort just from activating it across his body, even though he isn't even moving (chapter 48), and he's afraid that it'll cause him damage when he tries to move with it.

You forget chapter 47 where Deku charges up OFA to attack gran torino yet doesn't break his arm because the force of his attack was reduced. My interpretation of 48 was more that he was struggling to keep full cowl from going out of control.

Also I'm still saying that all might created muscle form to create a bit of cushion to reduce the wear of OFA generated impacts.

or he used muscle form even when he wasn't hurt he's definately the type to create a secret identity for himself and not being hurt might mean he could have done it for as long as he needed. there's no real proof.

Like I imagine the cops don't have a mixed martial arts tournament to decide who gets to be a cop during training at the Police Academy and those guys are actually allowed to arrest people and use lethal force.

Heroes arent' public servents. they exist in a weird private/public dichotomy they often have to take up advertising and sponsorships and all that to supplement their income heroes are always competing with each other

Surely there should've been classes about this stuff. It doesn't help that I think in last chapter Aizawa was thinking of how he thought this would basically be their Achilles Heel. If that was the case why wasn't their more focus on it in training! (I know the reason is because it's less fun for the readers to see and we were there for their pre-test training sessions, but it still bugs me a bit)

Even the newest clone would inherit all the memories of creating all of the clones in succession and the only people who have more certainty of being the original are the clones at the beginning because they might not be around to see the latest few being made. It's not even a matter of "loyalty to the original" because each clone would believe with complete certainty that they are the original.

I dunno it actually seemed like his clones listened up to a point, and it's never actually stated if the clones have the memories or not because we don't know if he's a clone, remember he got stabbed in the head he may not be a reliable narrator.
