Just picked up my copy at the midnight release my GameStop was doing. I've still got a few things to do before I play it for the first time, but it's not a whole lot. I definitely don't plan on going to bed until after I've played this game at least once. While I was at GameStop, I also bought a bunch of other goodies for my Wii U that I'm pretty excited about. Wireless motion sensor, Wii U remote w/ nunchuck attachment, SSB remote-attachment controller, a cover and screen protector for my Wii U control pad, like 8 Amiibo figures, and I think some other stuff. I just started playing the game. I was planning to play it last night after I bought it, but I ended up being too sleepy. First thoughts: - This game looks loving GORGEOUS with HDMI! Holy poo poo! - I am concerned by the apparent lack of an Adventure Mode of any sort. I really hope there's some version of Adventure Mode/Subspace Emissary/Smash Run somewhere in this game, or I'm gonna be sad. - WHY IS SONIC BOOM NOT LISTED IN THE MUSIC PLAYBACK MENU THIS BETTER BE UNLOCKABLE OR SO HELP ME

How come I keep turning off the "Tap to Jump" option on the Controls menu, but my characters keep jumping when I tap UP anyway? Cuz that poo poo is getting annoying.

 Ummm... apparently I just fought Wario in the bedroom from Poltergeist and one of the TV People finished him off for me....... I... I don't even know what the hell, but it helped me unlock Wario, so thanks TV People!

Man I just cannot get over how loving GORGEOUS this game looks in HD!!  I still miss the Scrap Brain music and Sonic Boom (the Sonic CD song) though. Also I wish there was a Hydrocity level for Sonic. Hydrocity was a really great stage, and it had some kickass theme music too.

I ended up buying a bunch of Amiibos with this game. I was at GameStop picking up my preorder and the guy told me what Amiibos they had in stock, and I basically mimicked Elaine buying the case of sponges on Seinfeld. Now I have 8 Amiibos, all unopened because I plan on building a shelf for them before I open them, and I intend to buy more at a later date. I regret nothing.

Any tips for getting a max combo of 30 or more in Training? My old trick of hitting people repeatedly with a charging Lucario shot on a sloped surface doesn't seem to work as well here as it did on the 3DS version.

Oh yeah his Down-B is great..... until you get a pile of boxes stacking up over the line at the far end of the stage, where his Down-B doesn't reach from the middle of the stage, so you have to stop doing it every 2 or 3 seconds to punch backed-up box piles to keep the stage from disappearing out from under you. Plus he's so big and slow that it's easy for the lightning balls and explosive boxes to hit him, he's prone to falling off the edge of the stage when he throws punches while running forward, and when he does fall off the edge, it's a safe bet he's gonna die since his Up-B has no vertical lift whatsoever.
