I've switched over to actively encouraging people into joining once they ask me about enlistment. If the synapses firing between their neurons are hosed enough to have the concept of enlistment filter beyond their clearly subpar blood brain barrier than they will absolutely fit in with like-minded mouth breathing halfwits. Once you've gotten to the point of, "Boy oh boy, I wonder if I can have the current partially functioning federal government dictate every aspect of my life up to and including when and where I can poo poo," it's beyond too late.
