They're going to be in a boatload of tie ins. Sinister is usually an X villain. I would like to see more of them doing stuff in the event proper too but seeing that it was set up in Avengers ... Still. So many tie ins!

And judging by the cover of Secret Wars #3 they'll be in that issue. Granted that one is a variant, still.

Master of Kung-Fu and Spider-Verse were really good. Planet Hulk and Battleworld were goofy but solid. Ultimate End was messy, I have no idea what's going on with Battleworld Manhattan. A-Force was weak. Deadpool is probably only tolerable if you're really into Deadpool, but I liked the backup story.

Totally agree with all of this.

A-Force felt more like #0 rather than #1.

I read a bunch of them and I was really into more of them than I expected.

M.O.D.O.K. Assassin was my favorite for this week just for seeing MODOK being an absolute dick in the funniest manner. He kills people in "Killville" so you can probably guess the tone this book has.

Infinity Gauntlet's best feature is the art, because it's gorgeous the entire way through. That doesn't mean that Duggan's writing is poor in this series, because the first issue made me really tense the whole way through. I'm not really fully connected with this family the mini is featuring by the end of issue 1, but it did make me connected enough to worry about their safety.

Where Monsters Dwell is a slightly tamer Garth Ennis book that isn't Punisher Max related. You can probably guess from here if that's your type of thing or not.

Secret Wars Journal disappointment me with the two stories it featured in #1 since Battleworld last week was so fun to read. It's not really bad, but both stories felt boring to me. I'll still keep my eye on future issues to see if it has something interesting, but I would recommend others to skip this one.

Old Man Logan was the best Bendis book I've read in a while. Honestly makes me wonder why he wasn't this good throughout his X-Men run. It's a continuation of the original Old Man Logan comic for those of you wondering if it only shared its title with the original comic like the other SW tie-ins. Sorrentino is the BOMB when it comes to art in this.

Secret Wars 2099 was a nice 1st issue to explore the world and the new avengers characters, but it ended rather abruptly for me. I'll probably read the 2nd issue to see if things change for the better. Also, Hercules is in this.

X-Men '92 felt like I was given a shot of 90's culture directly into my veins. The writing of this reminded me of the Batman 60's comic done by DC right now with the comic emulating the tone and lines of each of the characters of the show. Probably my second favorite of this week's tie-ins for featuring the team playing laser tag.

Mostly agree with this and I'll continue with the others I bought too. I really liked the first stories' characters in Secret Wars Journal so I'll definitely be checking out Siege #1. I also agree that I was into more than I thought I would be. Honestly, I didn't hate any of the new books. I was disappointed a bit in Secret Wars 2099 but only because Spider-man 2099 is one of my favorite characters and he doesn't seem like he'll be a prominent character in it.

Inferno: The premise is interesting and the first issue was alright. Nothing amazing but I'll at least pick up the second issue to see where it goes.

Inhumans Attilan Rising: I'm a huge Inhumans fans so I'm really biased but I thought it was a good start and did a decent job introducing the entire premise. Seems to me like some sort of detective mystery story featuring Inhuman characters. Not that that's a bad thing.

Ones I expected to hate but thoroughly enjoyed: MODOK Assassin, Old Man Logan, Where Monster's Dwell

The only reason A-Force was 'meh' was because it felt more like a prologue than #1. I enjoyed it otherwise but yeah the Deadpool one was not that great.I agree with (the user) Deadpool, I've quite enjoyed mostly all the tie ins.

It is pretty light, cheesy and cute. The story made me laugh because the parallels are so obvious (unless you're a kid).

I dunno if it's a spoiler but to be safe: The story ends with Avengers and X-Men competing to get the new neighbors to join their group (Wanda and Pietro).

Secret Wars #3 was so good that I don't want to spoil my high with today's tie-ins. How did you guys like them?

Battleword: Tons of fun, definitely recommend.

Years of Future Past: Meh. Okay I guess but definitely did not pull me in like I thought it would.

X-Tinction Agenda: Boring but I feel like it might end up being important for mutants post-secret wars.

Future Imperfect: Also kinda boring but seems like it might end up being important.

Little AvX: Cute, fun, light hearted.

Master of Kung Fu: Decent. I liked the first issue but the second one has put me on the border of dropping it but it may just be me.

Amazing Spider-man Renew your vows: Really boring. I did not enjoy it one bit, the villain is contrived.

Armor Wars: Did not enjoy this at all.

I'd say Battleworld for sure. Little AvX if that's your sort of thing. Everything else is at your discretion.

I mean, I guess in the grand scheme of Battleworld I didn't see how it fit. Why couldn't these people just ask Doom to move them to a new kingdom? I'll probably buy #2 but I just felt like it would make more sense on its own not tied into anything.

I don't really think there is a way for the non nobles to petition Doom for redress as and as mentioned a few times, travel between kingdoms is rather hard (unauthorized travel even gets the attention of strange). And like any oppressed people what's to make you think that any other kingdom wants them.

Related to that how big are kingdoms? I swear a couple of them seem like they're the size of the all US or even the whole earth? I mean I'm sure there is a sliding scale or loose rules for story purposes, but they all seem huge compared to an incursion point.

Good point.

I was wondering how large they were too because in Years of Future Past Kelly mentioned landing in New York and "The United Doomstates" which makes it seem like it is the same size as the US.

Just a thought: I'm starting to have suspicions about Strange. I'm not 100% convinced at this point that Doom is actually the "God" here. I don't buy that the same Strange who used the Blood Bible and made the Resolute Throne deal considered the power of the Beyonders and went "nah, too much".

It's been obvious from #2 that Strange is really running Battleworld. He's the one that enforces law and order and stops the domains destroying one another; he's the one who freaks out over the discovery of the Cabal raft while Doom mopes about in his castle.

In #4, why is Doom so vague in his recollection of the heroes and the Cabal? And yet Strange knows exactly who they are straight away.

When Phoenixclops is melting Doom, there's something fishy about Strange's hand movements. Doom's getting his rear end handed to him until Stephen makes a gesture -- the same one Doom is making as he grabs Phoenixclops by the throat.

It's possible that Strange has mindwiped Doom like he did Cap or something similar. It's the burden of rule that Strange declined, not the omnipotence, and so he's kept Doom around as "God".

I can't square away Strange's "death" scene, but getting lasered by your puppet ain't no thang if you've got Beyonder powers. Faking his death would leave Doom, the heroes, and the Cabal to busy themselves with each other while Strange continues with whatever shady poo poo he's been up to on the Isle of Agamotto.

Hmmm... well now that you mention it Doom was whining about not being able to fix his face. Maybe that has something to do with Strange keeping it that way.

A baseball in a metal case drops from...somewhere...and this clues her in why, exactly? And how did the weird shape with the staff that was stalking them play into it?

From what I can tell he gives her his tracker (that ball) and it falls out of her pocket, breaking one. There's a very small panel where she pull the binoculars out of her pocket and it falling out.

Apologies for the fact that this has probably been asked about three dozen times in the thread--feel free to just link me back to other posts. There are some tie ins that seem more important than others but I'd say they're all optional.

My favorites:
Ghost Riders
Marvel Zombies
Weirdworld
Star-lord and Kitty pryde
Attilan Rising
Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps
Squadron Sinister
Captain Britain and the Mighty Avengers
Guardians of Knowhere
Spiderverse
Spider Island
Runaways
Civil War
1872
Model Assassin
A force
E is for Extinction
Old Man Logan
Infinity Gauntlet
1602 Witch Hunter Angela
Little Giant Sized AvX
Planet Hulk
Siege
Thors

I may be alone here too but I enjoyed Hail Hydra and Where the Monsters Dweller . As you can see a whole hell of a lot are enjoyable. Basically I'd say pick ones you're interested in and read the first issue. From there you'll have an easier time deciding.

I think they are husbands of Medusa and Storm e.g. they do nothing but live as every day citizens. Colossus was there too, I believe. He also had a STRONG resemblance to the new Extraordinary X-Men cover.
