Honest healing confuses the hell out of me. When I leveled SCH to 50 I couldn't imagine only healing because I'd have been doing nothing for 80% of the dungeon.

speaking as a former honest healer (whm) I was under the (terrible and wrong) impression that "if I wanted to DPS I'd queue as DPS." After I got laughed at for being such a trash healer by my FC members I decided to try and :gitgud: which was all well and good until Alexander Floor 4 hit.

And then I hung up my loving christmas stick and grabbed a great sword.

In DGKK we go with the map owner being able to need anything (or greed if they don't care about that item), everyone else greed rolls only. Easy to follow and low drama.

Map owner also gets to pick the doors!

I rather like this scheme and will use it from now on with all runs I participate in.

Also, gently caress I hate the UNID slog. It's to the point that I'm honestly willing to forego the fat stacks of gil that I'd be getting buying glass fiber just to get those 2 extra pieces of UNID garbage a week.

I think they've mostly stopped doing that. They did that first the first set of events during the first year of ARR, but that was to let people get the event items that were in the 1.0 version of events. The last set of events seem to have stopped doing that.

I think you can still get some of the stuff from that vendor if you look under one of the other options. The catch is you have to have participated in the event (I assume the seasonal event achievement is the lock) to qualify for those items.

So here's my quandary for you all. I'm currently a 227 DRK with 810 crit and 454 det, and I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to drop about 25 points of crit in favor of 25 points of det. Let me lay out my arguments for both sides:

With the higher crit value of 810, according to some internet wizardry by gamer trash nerds, I have a 15.5% chance to crit on any given hit whereas a value of 785 would give me an even 15% chance. My tiny lizard brain likes seeing the big numbers with exclamation points after it.

OTOH, having those points in det means a steady outflow of higher damage than what I'm producing currently.

Which should I stack more points in, do you think?

disregard this as I am a terrible player who can't even loving read the OF and other sites that say "loving stack crit you goddamn nerd".

After waiting for almost three hours and fifteen minutes, I managed to get into A3. I learned something. I can tank both hands with no problems (we accidentally left the warrior OT locked out :ssh:)

I want to reiterate how much I hate the unid grind. And thanks to those who came to my aid.

I mentioned it in game, but if they're looking to make cul spec relevant, one of the new 60**** recipes should be a food that increases your overmeld odds. Not only will it drive people to the class, it will also remove a stream of Vs from the server since more people would get ballsy enough to attempt overmelds

My only issue with a recipe like this is that it's going to forever be there in the system. Like how Tinker's Calm is forever a 50***(*?) potion, and Bacon Broth is forever a 50***(*?), this food will forever be set at that difficulty. Furthermore, as we've seen in the past, things that once were Specialist required (Looking at you, Kingcake or whatever the gently caress it's called for Culinarian) now no longer require that specialization.

It's a nice idea, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it opens up the door to abusability as other classes clamor (eyeballing Alchemist in particular) for their own version of Gambler's Cake.

4 star ARR recipes are trivial at level 60. What are you even going on about?

Yes they are, and that's my point. When they were released, they were difficult. Now we laugh at them and use a macro because :effort: fails to even describe how no challenge those recipes are. Come the next expansion, the melder's bacon will become just as trivial a recipe for something that's much more important to the game than desynthing.

Unless they come up with another way to socket materia and poo poo in which case welp.

WoW is incredibly boring, even Legion, and their loot system sucks.

This, mind you, is after they gutted the skill tree, the stats, the specializations, the... just about everything. They somehow turned WoW into a shittier marriage of GW2 and Dota.
