I feel for Raptors fans, it's rough when a team just completely owns your team's soul despite being varyingly good and lovely.

I wanna see how far this can go. Like, next game have Chicago start Anthony Bennett and four DG-leaguers and see how they still win.

Seriously? How was that?

The Raptors were getting killed so Casey ran Lowry/Demarre/Joseph/Delon/Poeltl to start the quarter and they kept working so they kept playing.

Three point guard lineups are the new inefficiency.

As much as I would love that, Toronto traded their 1st in the Ibaka deal and can't trade consecutive 1sts, we'd have to talk Indiana into taking 2019's 1st

Going into detail on a joke trade proposition is whatever but the Raptors had two firsts this year (thanks to the Greivis Vasquez trade, somehow) so they're still good.

Why does the MVP always come down to semantic argument between "best production by a player, best production by a player on a good team, best player overall"

Because discussing value is hard. Personally, I remain optimistic that if we really wanted to carefully sort it out we could come to a mutually acceptable understanding of value. Possibly over a Pepsi.

Do we want a new N/V thread for the playoffs, or are we gonna just keep chugging along? (Or have a new playoff thread while also keeping this thread for the teams that are no longer in the playoffs, because they lost too many games?)

Amar'e became terrible at basketball the same season he discovered his Jewish roots. As a Jew myself I found the deliberate implications deeply unsettling, fortunately it became okay to hate Amar'e for being a Jew once he moved to Israel and announced that he hates fags and loves Zionism.

The NBA has a web of acceptable racialisms and innuendos. You're allowed to make fake honorable bowing motions and clothesline any celestials you see on the court; you may not under any circumstances fall into a senile fugue and refer to Magic Johnson as "some black guys"; the one drop rule applies to Blake Griffin but not Steph Curry; these are all facts and deeply understood histories known to all true NBA fans, please do not try to impose your strict outsider monolith morality upon our functional ecosystem of historical associations.

That's nice and all, but ironic slurs will be dealt with in the same way as non-ironic slurs.

I don't think that the Cavs have looked very invincible this series, at least not in games 1 and 3.

Anyway, I'm curious to see where the Raptors go in the offseason. Despite trading a first and Ross for Ibaka, they still have a pretty decent group of young players so it's interesting to see what they would put together without Lowry. (I suspect Lowry re-signs.)
