The only people to blame are Trump voters If they didn't vote for Trump, he wouldn't be president-elect

So manufacturing jobs aren't coming back, but if Congress gives Trump he infrastructure bill they wouldn't give Obama, that's a ton of construction jobs And of course they could have done that at any time over the past six years but that would have made a Democrat look good gently caress unity These fuckers deserve poo poo

Deadly Ham Sandwich posted:I am honestly curious if the Republicans can do anything. Not legally. I mean can a congress that did nothing even when Republicans controlled the senate and house actually accomplish anything? It is easy to be against Obama and just be a sour piss baby about everything, but actually planning and doing poo poo is a lot harder. I don't think Republicans can create a big infrastructure project or build a giant wall. That poo poo is not easy. Strong sense of "what's the point if Obama's just gonna veto it"

plausible case to be made that democratic infighting was because democratic party never had a chance to address the recession, given that obama was already the nominee when it occurred, and we've been kinda coasting since without addressing how to handle it as a party

She also wanted to impose a no fly zone on loving Russia, even Bush would know to stay the gently caress away from that. Next, NAFTA and similar agreements are very much right wing. Illegal immigrant amnesty is also not a goddamn Leftist principle. The only reason she was for it was because of the racism implications since most of them are Hispanic. Obama was immune to having the race card played on him and as such he deported far more illegals than any other President in history. Bush destroyed at least two countries, and probably one more that I imagine you're assigning to Hillary for some reason

readingatwork posted:The short version is that after the great depression in the 20's FDR came on the scene and did a bunch of awesome socialist poo poo called the New Deal. This breed of "New Deal" democrat was popular for decades and was characterized by an outlook very similar to Bernie Sanders. Now fast forward to the 90's where Bill Clinton learned that you can often win by abandoning your base and appealing to the center-right (which actually existed at the time) professional STEM major/management class. He did this with stuff like forcing welfare recipients to work or not receive pay, signing trade agreements that allowed for outsourcing, and doubling down on the drug war. This new corporate democrat became known as the "neoliberal" wing of the party and has acted as the leadership ever since. Neoliberal has become something of a bad word in the last 5 years or so as people start to realize that this compromise resulted in a party that stands for little outside of getting their donors more money and doesn't do well in elections since people generally would rather vote for a real Republican over a Republican-lite. Socialists derided the New Deal in largely the same terms that the internet left uses to describe neoliberalism today
