I don't get this "it was good because it was contrarian!" thing about Star Wars.

Subverting expectations is fine, but do it in service of something better. This movie did away with a bunch of the tropes and elements of Star Wars, in favor of what, exactly?

The plot all hinged on a sitcom style miscommunication between Poe and Ellie from Jurassic Park. That entire conflict could have and should have been resolved with a quick conversation. Everything hinging on:

Poe: You have no plan!
Laura Dern: I don't have to explain myself to you!"
Poe: Mutiny! Side quest!

...was lovely, lazy writing. Make up some reason Poe still thinks her plan sucks. Give the audience a reason to see both sides of the argument. This was such a terrible way to create the main conflict of the movie.

Also when Luke said "You want Luke Skywalker to face down the First Order with a laser sword?", I rolled my eyes so hard.

WE GET IT. You're flipping everything on its head and changing the series.

And finally, yes you stupid rear end in a top hat. I want to watch you face down the First Order with a laser sword.

One of my friends decided to change from a bard to a barbarian shaman after like a week of us playing, so we decided to run across the world to meet with him.

It took for loving ever and then we had to get someone to bind us there because we weren't high enough level to even do that yet.

My favorite EQ memory was starting a Barbarian Shaman on the opening night of the team PVP servers. I got to level 9, got SoW and took a huge group of Barbarians to the Tunnel of Ro where we fought alongside neutral and good races against dark elves, ogres and trolls.

God that was so fun.

I played on a Mac only server that was completely broken and somehow the shadow knight was one of the more powerful classes.

I have fond memories of failing high level crafting, wiping at the drop of a hat, losing exp, and camping something that only spawned every twelve hours.

Mac server was dope because they got stuck on one of the early expansions and it just existed in something like a 2002 state for a really long time.
