Is there a consensus about the graphic options and what settings gives you an advantage (if there is any)?
Specifically I'm wondering about draw distance. Atm I have it on Ultra but I'm wondering if that is even necessary if I just want to spot enemies.

Supposedly the game comes with mouse smoothing as default that can be disable by editing the .ini file by adding a line.

Location
%APPDATA%..\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini

Add the following line

bEnableMouseSmoothing=false

Has anyone tried it yet (I'm at work so can't yet)? I have been annoyed by the input delay since the beginning (drat you CS:GO for making anything but the perfect situation comfortable for me). If this changes that I would be awesome.

It's probably not as trivial as you think. When I talked to PU he said he wanted the long range shooting to be more like Arma but said it's pretty difficult to get it right.

I also think zero'ing could be difficult to apply (at least for the in optic markings) for scopes for different guns. I don't know if the projectiles are coded to exit in a line out of the scope or slightly below (out of the barrel) either, which could make a difference in how zero'ing works and also when swapping the optic between guns with different ballistics.

I general I think most people compensate too much when shooting with rifles with optics since most of the shots we take probably are of distances between 50-250 m which will require you to aim barely above at the longest.

I quite like the 8x on an M16 tbh (used as my long range gun ofc. I will inventory juggle if I don't have a better gun for close combat). It makes it super easy to land 2 very fast head shots.
However, I hate the x2 scope and will use a red dot/holo over it on anything but the sniper rifles (if I don't have x4 or above yet).

Anyone else feel like the SKS have gotten stealth fixed? After this update I have actually managed to use it effectively and might actually use it over an M16 now (the KAR is ofc still king).

I also agree with other poster praising SMGs (especially the UMP). I loving love that thing now at close to mid ranges and will probably pick it over any of the ARs. It has won me a few games now.

The vector is also super op at the time of posting this, relatively easy to find a suppressor for and does good things at short-medium range.

Does that parachute thing work at any speed? Generally if I just fly forward first and then dive in the end I can each 230 or whatever the magic number is which lets me kinda of continue falling while the chute is deploying. You are saying that letting go of W will do that for any speed? :)

It's not quite so bad that I can't fight early game but I do get occasional stutters where my screen will freeze for about a second and if one of those comes at the wrong time then I'm obviously screwed.

My spec:

Core i7 950 (so, early quad core but one of the better ones), 6gb tri-channel RAM, GTX 660, plus a quite recent SSD (so a good and fast one). Everything is a little underpowered except my SSD. I feel like maybe the low amount of RAM is a bit of a factor but it's hard to tell. I run other games like Overwatch just fine.

I can add than I'm running with 8g myself and the game generally runs very smooth so I doubt it's the ram for him (ram speed shouldn't have any effect for application right?). Maybe it really is a CPU issue and we should find a way for the 970 to take more of the load and I guess I'll get him to run hwmonitor to see if it's throttling (maybe the paste is getting old and the cooler could need a reinstalment).

I do however think maybe the locations of the circles and especially the last few circles (when about 10-15 people are left) could be looked at. Sometimes the terrain is just god awful if you are entering from one side and I think more neutral places could be found. This however must not be predictable at all (so that you can learn exactly where the last circle is going to be) so it might be impossible :ohdear:

I wouldn't say no to an M79 in the sidearm slot as another crate drop weapon, though - so long as they have it keep the minimum arming distance and lose the guide line.

An MP5 would be pretty cool especially because I haven't gotten to use one in CS for a long time hehe.

I completely agree that a 50 BMG is unnecessary and potentially crazy OP with semi-auto and all.
Btw, is the M24 meant to be better than a KAR98? If yes, in terms of what, accuracy? I'm asking because wouldn't the KAR98 with a proper 8mm mauser technically be more powerful?

I think an M79 would be extremely difficult to get right and balance properly.

All in all I quite like the current load out of weapons. Seems to have a good range with a gun for every situation. Maybe make the pistols quicker to pull out so they aren't completely useless after you get any primary?

This is so true.
However, a couple of times now in duo's my mate was killed very early in the round which normally would mean I just exit and we play a new one but because I had already found awesome gear I decided to have fun with it and run head first into fights to end it quickly but at least have some fun. Instead of dying fast, as I expected, I ended up doing very well. Got a lot of kills and almost won more than one of these.
So I think we have a tendency to play it "safe" when being geared which instead means you get killed by a dude you never even saw (making playing it "safe" not safe), instead of always being on the offensive and leaving a wake of dead bodies and cleared areas behind, making it so very few fights will be a surprise.

Sometimes I end up dying cause I can't resist taking a long range shot on a running target just because you have a sniper and getting the kill would be cool, alerting everyone to our presence.
