brexit will never happen. theyll do brexit in all but name immediately ie theyll sell off the nhs to aetna and stuff limeys full of chlorinated chicken and e. coli lettuce by the end of 2020 but they wont call it brexit and theyll pretend that brexit hasnt happened for the next several years until the next election when theyll say that the lettuce has e coli because we havent had brexit yet and you need to vote tory to make brexit happen
yeah it's not like the ruling class wanted this -- they are just willing to use it and manipulate sentiment to preserve their wealth and power. could very be another slow-rolled "we solved brexit!!!" thing like trump's reworking of NAFTA which is basically the same as NAFTA with trump's face stamped on it. have some headlines in the murdoch press about everything being great and :britain::britain::britain: rule britannia :britain::britain::britain: for the real low-brow conservative voters to eat it up, while the ones who ask too many questions can be quietly ignored like usual

i mean it works for trump. as long as the people at the top are making money and the plebs are getting screwed then everything is okay

I'm not sure I entirely like this angle that since we think that person had to have liked Corbyn's policies, but since we also don't want to consider factors outside of his party, that we're instead running to how personable he is, and further projecting that onto Sanders as being successful because he's a charismatic politician, and not because of his policies
it's mostly a bunch of woo-woo and not really a material analysis

we also have a hard time actually discovering facts. like real ones that we can use instead of just wallowing in a snake pit of LIES or just heavily distorted. at best we have to try and read through the lines in the bourgeois press while giant mousetraps spring out of the margins going snappity snappy snap. we lost a lot of resources with the collapse of the USSR which would at least fund a commie tabloid on the shelf, along with the general disintegration of socialist info sources

well i'd post some jam man memes ITT but i think it's probably not a good thing for influencer hype men like this guy to exploit people and pump up the jam in a cynical way, and then go "whoops!" when the utopian socialist future doesn't pan out

but that's also probably just "politics"

Look if the procedure did not produce Jeremy Corbyn as a prime minister, so what? Wasn't there some other procedure that produced say Lenin as a leader of another failed empire? Look at your own thing throughout the 20 century, unions get their thing not by conforming to tradition or whatnot but by pushing their thing. gently caress it, you are 500000 people, you are not obliged to fold your arms and die if you don't want to.

I was back home with my folks this weekend in a staunchly loyalist NI backwater. My mum had a few "Defend the Union" leaflets posted through her door. I also saw some posters for emergency meetings in Orange halls/Presbyterian churches put up by the DUP and their paramilitary buddies.

Now I loving despise loyalism. It's a vile toxic culture that I was raised in, and I'm forever grateful for having the opportunity to escape. But I will give it credit for being able to organize mass grassroots movement against anything perceived as being harmful to the Union/Ulster. I've heard that these meetings have been well-attended across the North and they're trying to organize large-scale civil disobedience like they've done in the past. Thankfully these days they don't have a firebrand like Paisley to stoke the fire and turn it into a mass movement.

But lol that the DUP sucking Tory dick has weakened the NI/Britain union and moved a united Ireland decades closer. Boris made a deal that effectively annexed NI and "solved" the backstop problem by giving strong daddy Varadkar everything Ireland wanted and moving all the border problems inside the UK.

It's a remarkable achievement. Getting parliament to agree to a deal that's objectively worse than the one they'd previously rejected on several occasions. And also uniting NI unionists/nationalists, for possibly the first time in history, in agreement that the Brits are always at it.
interesting post. thanks.
