Bile really helps illidan out, as if you can position your bile drop to slow the whole enemy team down illidan can go to town shredding them. It's boring and not as flashy but is the more reliable ult, even if gorge picks are super fun.

I love Jo but she's not in a great place right now, except if you need blinds. I'd recommend muradin over her, double thunderclap with healing per hero hit, avatar, ignore pain, third wind.... Muradin is nuts for absorbing damage and not caring at all.

Dehaka with adaptation is also rad when you pop it, eat a ton of damage, and burrow until you get your life back. He's a brick shithouse of regen if you can stagger out the damage a bit.

With stiches people generally build for slam, but if you're in QM and got a good healer or two, stiches tank build with extra healing received can be infuriating for the enemy team.

There's a huge difference in the level of cooperation of players between hero league and quick match.

When I placed this season i was all excited because people were taking draft so seriously, calling picks, making suggestions, and playing a really tight game. I placed plat 1 and was super stoked, I was silver last year. Then my next 3 HL games had 3 different deliberate throwers, including the infamous leo eternally camped on an enemy keep dying and rezzing over and over and over.

Solo laners and specialists are usually distinct from eachother.

xul and sylvanas can both be zoned out of their wave fairly easily by many bullies, same as heroes like azmo, zeebo, etc. All these specialists are optimally used by enhancing the push of your team, especially by strong waveclear rotations into multiple lanes. Some of them are mediocre to viable at holding a solo lane, but any good solo laner is happy to smash them.

I don't think Zarya's energy mechanic translated that well tbh, having a high charge isn't that exciting.

I played a ton of DVA when she was released and had a great time bullying the hell of people, but i haven't played her since her last round of nerfs. I think the turning point for me was when an abba accidently cloned me and it made me laugh, because dva without her mech explosion feels like nothing.

I haven't tried out her lvl 16 talent that makes her dash, the other day i fought a dva who took that and lit me up with that and triple laser, really surprised me.

I wonder if they would want to de-emphasize quick match before they introduce anymore multiclass heroes. Varian seems like a problem they still haven't solved. It's interesting how QM shapes heroes like Varian. His recent change in QM matchmaking rules made it so he now usually has to specc tank, which varian QM players usually wouldnt do. After being effectively forced too, his winrate went up because taunt is the superior build, and then taunt gets nerfed even though it's been unchanged for months and months.

I cannot possibly put into words how wrong you are. HOTS's playerbase is huge, thriving, growing, and the same could be said for its professional scene. Every bit of effort that Blizzard puts into HOTS farts out income like you wouldn't believe. Now, granted - HOTS is not nearly as enormous and all-encompassing as League or DotA, but that doesn't mean it's small - it's just contending with two games that had several years' worth of a head start in building a playerbase and delivering content.

It doesn't feel like it. I got a friend who when we queue looks up every player on hotlogs, and there is a massive variance in mmr between players in most games. Also if you play steady at all you get used to seeing the same players again and again. We play on US West Coast if that matters.

KT scales at 2.5% to counteract his huge powerspike he gets when he completes his quest. Someone on reddit did the math, and at level 20 quest completed he's on an equal powerspike to most other characters, but the earlier he gets it done the more out-of-control his midgame potential is. Getting this quest done asap means grouping against the most amount of characters possible and above all else focus landing your combo as reliably as possible. He's almost like a ranged kerrigan in this aspect.

Though, I did have a fantastic time stomping a human Kel'Thuzad to death last night as Cho'Gall with a friend, so PvP is not a complete black hole.

If you like AI give this weeks brawl a shot. It's just all random 5 mid, so it's consequence-free. The only thing you gotta do is draft a tank and a healer and then just go nuts. Even then I've had a zero healer team beat a double healer team, so anything goes.

They definitely made some good improvements to the AI. Hammer for example will no longer siege every 3 seconds and will actively poke at you while moving around.

Dehaka AI was still quite dumb tho (primal zerg indeed) and they're not great at dealing with an exploding mech. But in the general it's a step forward. I played two games vs Elite AI with others and level 20 was reached in both of them, which might be a uncommon occurrence in bot games.

The two dumbest things AI things i've seen in this game was during the hanamura push brawl, two dvas on my team were both bots, and for no reason at all mid game they both hearthed, then just sat in base hearthing over and over without moving until the game was over. Also old murky ai used to lay his egg in lane where enemy minions would kill it, then he would die, pointlessly.

I have to write "10", "9v10", "19v20", and "4v5" a lot. Seems like in QM people sometimes don't pay attention to these basics principals, namely don't fight a talent tier or man down, and don't take an even fight over nothing to gain. I wish i could convey that with pings, maybe by pinging our level and theirs, and a ping that said "wait" or "we are missing a dude please don't take this fight".

If people are lovely and won't stop being lovely you mute them, tell them their muted, and talk poo poo about them with the rest of the team. Be prepared for some choice whispers afterwards.

In both those situations, if you go in 9 v 10 you're far more likely to die than they are , and then they can keep doing what they are doing safer and longer.
