Gum posted:So the Tories lost the least while losing more than Labour? The fact that you ran and hid after the election rather than claiming victory tells me you don't actually believe this bullshit Just ignore him. Like his political leanings and his poo poo-posting gimmick, he's irrelevant now. Have a sensible chuckle at the times he actually musters up the effort to be funny.

jabby posted:Watson never outright attacked Corbyn in the media like some politicians, but he was absolutely on the opposing side. He essentially did nothing to help or support Corbyn while in shadow cabinet, then when the coup happened he adopted the line that sadly Corbyn had to go since he didn't have the support of MPs. He has always used his position on the NEC to vote for stuff that is bad for Corbyn, like blocking new members from voting, and he's widely rumoured to have been deeply involved with the Blairites behind the scenes. For example his name always comes up when people talk about who moved the time of a conference call or appointed a special committee or any other gaming of the rules to try and put Corbyn at a disadvantage. I remember reading reports of him running around the room telling people that they better not vote for Corbyn being able to stand in the leadership election as the incumbent during the last coup attempt.

Go ahead and show her how it's done then, flaps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHi6vR0U31A vvv So you're not left wing and won't join Labour then. Good to know. Kokoro Wish fucked around with this message at 13:12 on Jun 25, 2017 |

Do try not to live under a constant blanket of fear, folks. It's almost as if the fact that it makes you real easy to influence and control is why establishments types, like alot of old fuckers in the intelligence agencies loved it and why they're actively engaging in promoting circumstances that will have that happen again. vvv: That too. Eyes on the ball that's actually important and that you can have some power over. Kokoro Wish fucked around with this message at 06:10 on Jun 27, 2017 |

learnincurve posted:Then wasps are even more poo poo than I previously thought. Seriously what's the point of them, do they actually contribute anything and how much would we lose if we did the bill gates mosquito thing and wiped them all out. You could say it was worth it to save the NHS money, and make sure the daily mail are made aware that mosquitos and mosques rhyme with wasps so they are obviously a Muslim terrorist plot. Wasps actually are part of breaking down dead wood and clearing litter. They also actually keep numbers of traditional pest insects like catepillars and the like under control by using them as food for their young. They're also part of the natural system of spreading yeast throughout the globe.

mehall posted:I was at a post-election meeting hoated by the Morning Star last night, and one of the speakers there was saying the single market membership is entirely incompatible with Corbyn's manifesto. Yeah, these are pretty much the conclusions I'm coming to aswell, reading around. Under any other government I'd probably be pro-remain still, but under a Corbyn government I'd want an exit so he can actually do what 's in the manifesto. I am not too comfortable with the EU's wanton crushing or sidelining true left-wing governments.

Just to note, Pissflaps' definition of Soft-Brexit™ is one where we're basically exactly the same as now except with no say in how the EU governs at all.

Jedit posted:No, it isn't. But people are getting motivated to participate in politics again, as evinced by last month's election, and when people get motivated like that it is always to oppose something they don't want. Every new vote in a second referendum would be for Remain. If this were actually true then Hillary would have won. It's more likely they came out to vote for something, like a manifesto pledges, a leader that spoke to them or sovreignty.

Gum posted:The difficulty of comparing stuff to the US election is that under pretty much any other system Clinton would have been declared the clear winner True, true. If I were being more accurate I would have said something along the lines of, although people voted for Macron more as a vote against Marine Le Penn, turnout for that election was vastly depressed as a result. Voting for something is always more appealing that voting against something.
