I haven't read that article, but I'm going to assume that the radical centre is described as a logical, pragmatic form of governance that's above the petty ideological concerns of the left and the right because politics is just a series of problems solved by people getting together in a room and talking things out and making decisions?

Fucks sake Jeremy, why won't you exterminate millions of people and possibly cause the end of the world!?!? This is what I want in a leader!

I didn't want to say anything guys, but to be honest I just really want a Prime Minister that can help exterminate the human species with nuclear weapons. Voting Tory next week.

Both of my brothers were on the bridge and witnessed a large part of what happened. They're both okay and well away from the area, but what the gently caress. Had they been closer when these guys struck, I'd have lost both of them.

Sapozhnik posted:Going to be really depressing when the Conservatives win an increased majority despite running an absolute dumpster fire of a campaign while Labour's has been more or less flawless given what they had to work with. On the other hand, we will be living in an economic wasteland after we turn into a tax haven post-Brexit, so make sure you do some lifting before the next election because you're going to have to build something out of the ashes that we've been left with.

Just voted Labour in Beaconsfield, which is basically a wasted vote because the Tories are holding that seat even if Dominic Grieve shoved leaflets through everyones doors asking us to legalise paedophilia but specifically for Muslims. I'm very jealous of my cousin though. Lives in Hayes. Gets to vote for John motherfucking McDonnell.

If theres anything the last two months have taught me its that all the voices in positions of power in the government, the press and just about every element surrounding both don't know what the gently caress they are talking about and the result of the election should tell us that our political system is so obviously incapable of representing the will of anyone in this country that its loving embarrassing. Hieronymous Alloy posted:That kind of thing is unfortunately what happens when people who've bought whole hog into the right wing narrative get smacked in the face with reality. Cognitive dissonance translates into panic anger. I like agreeing that this country is in dire straits and that there is no money left...which is why we should abolish the retirement age and get the over 65s back into work. We're all in this together, and we can't allow ourselves to get soft even in our old age; the elderly must work hard as well as the young. And while I'm at it, why should we have winter fuel payments? Maybe if these people weren't so loving lazy when they were young then they'd be able to afford to pay for their own heating, so why should I be financially punished because of their poor life choices and lack of planning? In all seriousness though, I only do this if people are flat out hardcore in their beliefs. I've met a lot of older people who are pretty chilled out and willing to just talk and learn and are if anything fascinated when talking about a subject in greater depth than their copy of the Daily Mail does.
