So "I'm very clear" is the new "strong and stable"? I think the only reason Cameron appeared to be such an effective Conservative leader is that his "long term economic plan" Markov chain seed was four words while the rest of them can only manage three.

Seemed pretty reasonable logic to me though, what's this thread think? I don't know that party very well.
I find the Economist endorsing the Lib Dems much funnier than I would have expected.

It's also pretty something that their endorsement of Tony Blair in 2001 was "Vote conservative — but choose the ambiguous right-winger rather than the feeble one".

If we're talking about what would happen in a nuclear war I think we should also discuss equally plausible situations such as an alien invasion or if penguins learned how to talk.

As much as the Amber Rudd thing is horrific I think it might actually be good that the focus is staying on police cuts, it's a simpler story that's much easier to understand and ask pointed questions about. Even the one or two Muslim–hating bigots on my Facebook feed can understand that you need police officers to act on the information they've been given.

So when Theresa May is quoted this morning as supporting 'shoot to kill' wtf does she mean or any of the assembled journalists understand her to mean?

That when we did it with the IRA it was fine, or that we are doing it again now? Or just words are now meaningless beyond having used up a small sliver of time so that we can all get on with our decay into dusty nothingness?
"Shoot to kill" is now essentially a dogwhistle that means "terrorists deserve to die", with the alternative (if you read the Mail) being a 'fair trial' during which time the terrorists will be living it up in a luxury prison at taxpayers' expense and will ultimately get off with a warning because of YOOMAN RIGHTS.

Clear, easy to use, and wrong. The LibDems have not bounced back, they're not going to bounce back in the next three days, and we shouldn't be advising people to vote as though they might.

We've got two independent polls in my constituency saying Labour is in either first or second place. If we lose it'll be because too many people are still "tactically" voting LibDem, as though the coalition had never happened.
They have a key seats tracker that shows the locations where (for example) the Guardian haven't made a tactical voting recommendation, but otherwise it looks like the other 'tactical voting' sites pretty much agree on where a Lib Dem vote is more helpful.

Nothing would make me happier than all the Lib Dem voters coming to their senses and turning out for Labour, but it doesn't seem implausible that there's still several regions where the plucky little orange fellas are more likely to pick up a win than red team.
