I certainly hope so. didn't happen to previous graduates when the SNP abolished the graduate endowment. only the current lot who hadn't paid yet. maybe you'll get a write off / down of current debt. but a refund of money already paid is going to be a huge bill so hard to get through a budget. especially if they're having to bargain with other parties.

I always wondered how it worked. if you stand for reelection and fail, you get a generous 'resettlement payment'. equivalent of one month's salary per year served as an MP, capped at 6 maximum but you don't if you just stand down. which is probably the only reason e.g. Danczuk bothered to put his name on the ballot as an independent.

Specifically there was a car double parked and blocked the road enough to not allow them to pass, then their was none removable bollards stopping the appliances from getting close to the building. I hope that car gets trashed. now that I think about it, IIRC St Anns Rd is still completely dug up for water works, so nothing's getting in from the station side either

Not that he can really take much credit when he hasn't done anything to change then since taking over.

Julio Cruz posted:All the numbers floating around are really vague. The only quote the BBC has for the number of people living in the building is "400-600" (no loving way the council doesn't have a much more accurate number than that" and Kensington and Chelsea LBC says it's relocated "109 households" in hotels (which could be anywhere between 200 and 400 people). It's pretty clear that they don't want people doing their own maths of "x residents - y survivors = z victims".

So as long as we assume no one had kids living with them, is renting with bills included, and every flat share has put all their names down that'll be a useful & accurate number Basically just keep waiting for the emergency services to give confirmed numbers once they're in and can count bodies.
