I figure it is likely 9th, but a new range of plastic IG would be much more interesting. Ideally Chaos IG.

Why do you believe this? It has never been true for Games Workshop, and people into collecting and playing with luxury goods tend to be much less price adverse.

I would personally love for them to go all digital, but I also only buy physical books for the two armies I play. I would just print off and elaminate the two pages of PA I need.

I mean, you chose to run a stupidly complex army with loads of different factions in it that needed seventy books. Nobody forced you to do this.

Yeah, when I play I nearly always just play my army from one codex. I think the ability to have allies as an option is a neat bonus in 8th, but it shouldn't be the first thing someone does when getting into the hobby. Once you have a few armies and want to mash them up do the other thing maybe add a patrol of Custodes to a IG army you start to need more than one book. New players don't just jump into a deep competition style loyal 32 without being told to do so.

The Eldar know they're not major players any more. They hover at the edges trying to manipulate/assist the imperium into scoring a win where it suits them, conversely they'll jam an ork shaped wedge into the imperium if the tea leaves indicate these humans are loving something up.

They still have an important job defending the webway, but it's generally sitting on the bench for my beautiful children of asuryan.

Just lol if you won't consign an entire planet of humans to death to save one Eldar life

9th Edition?! For fucks sake Games Workshop why not just stab me in my drat heart. I just bought this huge Dark Imperium box set because it came with all the rule books. Welp I guess its time to throw it in the trash?

I suppose I am now a Warhammer grognard. It will always be 8th edition in my house. Its not a total waste I suppose. I got this box set because it basically a self contained boardgame, and it still functions perfectly well that way. But it chaps my hide that I can't expand it any more without buying into a pile of new rule books.

I am personally looking forward to being continually sad about no new plastic Eldar for another whole edition. Please give me a troops unit where both legs are the same part! Necrons look super good, so I am sure there will be lots of great stuff for lots of people though.

Howling Banshees are my least favorite, but I still am glad they got put there. :unsmith:

To be fair, as much as I dream about new plastic Aspects, the Eldar range by and large still looks really good.

I think the real thing to think about is how much would you load up on anti infantry blast weapons in an all comers list? Something that is super good against Orks and Tyranids but not against most other armies isn't going to be a wild distuption for anything.

If you are loading up to tailor against a specific opponent you are playing a narrative game at that point anyway.

My badger messed up and discovered you can send it back to them was service for like 20 bucks or something. They fixed it perfectly with no trouble.

The only awkward part was having to ask my Mom to write a physical check to mail them. I am in my late 30s and have never used a check from my personal account once.

Get the Patriot 105 on Amazon as soon as possible. Not worth the wait to buy during the annual sale, when shipping times then are measured in months
