In college, I would trade my stolen goods for weed from my dealer that way we were both committing crimes and would be incentivized to not snitch on each other. Duh.

Milk came in little plastic pouches instead of cartons in school. We had to watch an instructional video on how to insert the straw. This was apparently only a Louisiana thing. Did anyone else have milk pouches at school? https://mobile.twitter.com/georgejones04/status/1224727773513764864 This tweet says late 80s but it didn't hit my school district until around 1992 or so.

I predict some rear end in a top hat will come up with some sort of santa nft/coin where you mint your wishlist to santa on the blockchain but you have to use santacoin and it costs you hundreds of dollars somehow and melts the north pole. poemdexter has issued a correction as of 18:01 on Dec 1, 2021 |

It's a weird industry where they make the most money for shareholders by providing the least amount of service possible. The majority of money spent in insurance is figuring out how not to spend money. Like somebody mentioned before, the best outcome possible is that you pay them money and get nothing in return because nothing bad happened.

I busted my rear end at a job I loved for 3 years and one day my boss took me outside and told me his boss wanted to fire me right there on the spot that day. My boss convinced him to let me have a month to find a new place to work. The reason was because someone else left the company and in their exit interview listed a few people they didn't like working with along with other company related reasons. The person who left the company and boss's boss were good friends outside of work too so boss's boss thought it would be sweet to get rid of the people who made his friend leave. That's when I stopped giving a poo poo about 2 weeks notice as a courtesy to the company because a company will absolutely remove you from working there for any reason without any warning or courtesy.

30.5 Days posted:That's pleasantly surprising, I feel like there have been so many people who, like that guy, have been put into unfireable positions by companies' unwillingness to raise wages. But for some reason, companies keep firing people anyway. The other day I read about some manager who was losing her poo poo because she'd "had" to close up because the the two teen girls she relied on to run the store on weekday afternoons gave her an ultimatum: let their boyfriends hang out near their register and chat with them or they quit. She decided to shut down the store. Capital believes it should be able to control every aspect of your life and if you ever threaten that idea, they are more than happy to take their ball and go home.

the free market did a bunch of lobbying to get them to write the rules so maybe it is the free market to blame? but the government pretty much exists to let companies to whatever they want so maybe the government is to blame? what I’m trying to say is we should all go vote about it.
