I have a coworker that paid sticker for a Turbo Veloster 2 years ago. He convinced his grandmother to pay of the $25k in debt he owed on the car on the condition that he quit smoking. Next day he shows up to work with a murdered out Miata NC smoking a cigarette... Found out later that the day after his Grandmother paid off the Veloster he sold it at CARMAX for $10k and then bought the NC off Craigslist for $7k. I can't look the kid in the eye anymore like what the gently caress. AND he didn't even really try to quit smoking.

Very tempted to buy my Buddy's Miata. 225k miles but the original (and previous) owner kept ever single service record for the car and it's completely almost completely stock and unmolested. The only modification on the car is a strut bar and new springs/shocks (also BBS wheels). It's a 1993 NA and he wants $3k for it but I want to see if he'll come down to $2500.

Also in my city for whatever reason the Nissan Altima is a low car in the same way the PT Cruiser was a low car a few years ago. I don't know why it is but some of these cars aren't even 10 years old and they're falling apart on the street in front of me seemingly. I always just assumed that they're either cheap or for whatever Nissan will take credit scores under 600.

Ahh interesting - the only car I've driven with automatic headlights was my dad's 2009 BMW 335d and that's set to automatic by default (far left position on the dial). This would make sense though. I also feel like Nissan are really popular vehicles to lease (at least in my area) which may account for drivers not understanding their cars controls as well as someone who has been with the car for awhile.

Idk why but I still don't trust Hyundai because I still associate Korean cars with the Daewoo Lanos one of my good friends drove in highschool. Worst car I've ever been in. I'm pretty poor but my credit score is actually pretty great so they offered the $28k brand new 86 for $0 down and Zero % APR for the first two years. Obviously I didn't buy it because I can't afford a new car (I'd be stoked to own anything with under 150kmi on the clock) but yeah it's freaking sweet and I wish I could afford one. If you go by owner you're going to find a bit more of a price spread because people will try to unload an FR-S for brand new 86 money on the grounds of "well I sunk $10k in upgrades into it so you're getting your money's worth". Yeah I see a lot of FRSs rolling around my city that are absolutely destroyed with camber'd tires, drift stitches, and the like.
