Apparently part of the witness tampering/intimidation charges are because he's been sending credible death threats. To add to that, Stone was almost always surrounded by various right wing militia/proud boy types for private security. There was a non-zero chance that Stone would have armed guards in his house at the time of the raid. Further, Stone was at extreme risk of destroying evidence, ala Michael Cohen, if he had been given notice and allowed to turn himself in. Every bit of that adds up to the raid happening the way it did.

If they can't in those 45 days, the clinics will shut down, and then they can sue because the state concedes that at that point the law would be unconstitutional. His issue is they're seeking remedy before the harm the law will cause has had a chance to actually happen.

In 1000 years the few small tribal villages that exist at the extreme ends of the globe will talk of ancient empires so powerful that people could fly around the world and make fireballs that would vaporize entire cities. Our technology will be gone. We’re going to lose so much.

Yeah, for a period of time people are going to retain technology, but much is going to be lost and will continue to degrade over the next millennia. Without worldwide trade and our modern infrastructure to support it, things are going to collapse hard.

Trump is ordering the military to take over full jurisdiction at the southern border. He's authorizing IRR recalls to do so. Section 1. The Secretary of Defense, or the Secretary of each relevant military department, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, shall order as many units or members of the Ready Reserve to active duty as the Secretary concerned, in the Secretary's discretion, determines to be appropriate to assist and support the activities of the Secretary of Homeland Security at the southern border. Sec. 2. The Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and, subject to the discretion of the Secretary of Defense, the Secretaries of the military departments, shall take all appropriate actions, consistent with applicable law, to use or support the use of the authorities herein invoked, including, if necessary, the transfer and acceptance of jurisdiction over border lands. Sec. 3. This proclamation is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

Prosecutors listed Roger Stone's case as a related case to the one against the 11 russian hackers that broke into the DNC, Podesta's emails, and the Clinton server. Stone's attorneys filed a motion stating the cases were unrelated and he should be assigned a different judge. The special counsel's office and prosecutors in a short 6 page filing allege that they found direct communication between the hackers, wikileaks, and Roger Stone. In fact, the investigation into the hacks is what led them to Stone in the first place. Roger Stone is hosed.

Such are the wages of the party culling anyone left of center for two generations - when the voters move left, they don't have much to hold on to. No one with Bernie's views could have survived the party. A lot, and I mean a lot, of gen-x and baby boomer democrats were republicans prior to George W. Bush. A good number of them voted for Clinton and began to migrate over, but the democratic party of the 00s through present is chock full of people who were republicans prior. The PPACA is almost a lift of Bob Dole's 1996 healthcare plan and was almost identical to Romney's healthcare plan as governor. Generally speaking, the Democratic Party is not liberal when compared to the rest of the world. It's been good to finally drag it to the left, but they've been "republican-lite" for most of my adult life. e: I grew up in rural rear end west texas and believed a lot of republican talking points (because it's the only ones I heard) up until I actually got to grow up and experience the world.
