Seems you dinguses and especially TheLastRoboKy missed what I thought was the obvious macabre irony of Canavan's tweet so I'll just regurgitate what I posted on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GarbageDotNet/status/1304382774741147658 Also my take re the Rio exec sackings is that they're probably just using the sacred site demolishing as an excuse to carry-out whatever machinations they've planned. Not to diminish the absolute horror of obliterating a sacred cultural site but it happened months ago and the media had already forgotten about it. They'd effectively gotten away with it what with the government having no mechanism or willingness to sanction them they only had to worry about the PR poo poo (Unless I've completely missed some facet of it please tell me if I have).

If you'd like I can run interference. I have very strong opinions re the Perth 2020 Mayoral race, specifically re that bootlicker Basil Zempilas.

Sulla Faex posted:An indigenous man has had his license suspended after five police were found dead by the side of the road last September. This is the second time that the man's vehicle has been involved with the accidental deaths of multiple police officers. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims that both times he was listening to "gently caress The Police" on the radio to the point of distraction and didn't realise his car was swerving over multiple lanes of traffic to impact upon the deceased. The judge has suspended his license for two weeks and advised more caution in future. Australian of the Year

Surprised they didn't do it sooner seeing as their test-case with the Uighurs worked and resulted in zero actual international action.

Re-watched Pacific Rim last night and came to the conclusion that in the timeline of the film AU has clearly been governed by a multi-decade succession of Labor federal governments because there's no way in hell a Liberal government would call a Jaeger "Striker Eureka." A Liberal government Jaeger probably would have been named "JOBS & GROWTH" or "Boat Stoppa." Also the Ruby Princess makes an appearance in the second film:

Homora Gaykemi posted:Labor would name the giant robot like Sensible Coal and Gas or some poo poo, not after actual industrial action Yeah I didn't say it's what they would name it, rather that the name is unimaginable under a Liberal government. I recall from recent history that the ABCC tried to actually ban the Eureka flag from construction sites: https://vic.cfmeu.org/news/nothing-has-changed-abcc-eureka-flag-banned-construction-sites Maybe the Pacific Rim canon is a quarter-century of Greens majority rule?

Libs/Nats: if we clear the land fast enough then the species will be made extinct before being discovered. Can't be accused of making a species extinct if no on discovered it!

Oh yeah I forgot to whinge about Michael McCormack's appearance on ABC News in the morning: he was meant to be talking about the outbreak in SA and yet he still managed to go out of his way to commend Gladys by name for her response which he then followed with a less enthusiastic "and SA have responded very well themselves" lol what a prick. Don't think he mentioned the premier of SA by name even once.
