Got a chocolate advent calendar for the kids and it feels really nice to see them getting all excited about opening it.

GAW also holds no debt and has paid a rock solid dividend for like a decade and a half, which makes it a nice safe bet for institutional investors like pension funds and index trackers and so on.

The Question IRL posted:The funny part was after Socrates was convicted, he was asked to set his own punishment. “How do you want to die?” “Of old age at home after drinking and loving myself to death at your expense while still doing everything you’ve accused me of ha ha ha.” Like, it’s a dumb joke sure, but hell of a thing to say to people literally about to pass your death sentence. E: BBC had an interesting story today to the effect that the IRA tried to shut Sinn Fein out of the peace talks on the grounds they were too socialist, based on recently declassified Irish government docs. (Phone posting so: bbc.com/news/world-Europe-55453601). They quote the file reference (2020/17/34.260900 Dec 20) several times in the article so it looks genuine. Not all that surprising that military types trend right wing regardless of supposed ideology I guess. Beefeater1980 fucked around with this message at 18:15 on Dec 27, 2020 |

If he can’t sell to his customers then he doesn’t have a 2 million pound business any more, he has a 0 pound business. Sadly he probably has enough assets to cushion him from the worst consequences of his decision (while subjecting his soon-to-be-former employees and anyone else without a nest egg to the full force of them).

I honestly find it odd. The last few months have been the most time I ever spent with my kids and it’s amazing and lovely and I am very sad that as soon as the lockdowns are removed I shall have to leave them and their mum and our nice life here to return by myself to Britain ad maiorem [my company] gloriam.
