Malgrin posted:A bit ago someone said something to the effect of "we've known for the vast majority of this pandemic that covid is airborne." This is a clear indicator that even covid-cautious people still believe it is primarily spread by droplets. At least, I can't think of any other explanation. Well, QCS believes it's absorbed through the skin, so who can say what's true?

i worked in concerts for 20 years, and show/tour cancellations are up by an absurd amount compared to pre-covid. it went from under 5% of shows being canceled, to 20-30% getting canceled. with the end of year shows getting closer to 50%. the info on why shows get canceled has always been spotty, especially due to health reasons. but there's a big gap in the number of additional shows being canceled due to covid, and the number that admit that it's covid causing the cancellation.

no lube so what posted:like, if virus A will cause an immunodeficiency syndrome and a new virus B will cause an immunodeficiency syndrome that is very similar to virus A, yet not defined, why not describe it with a common vernacular if the immunodeficiency syndrome are similar so as to signify the significance of the new immunodeficiency syndrome that is emerging? easy messaging for a laymen to understand the threat? seems reasonable Because to certain people AIDS means the gay disease that gays get because it's gay. So just because COVID is airborne and can cause people to Aquire an Immuno Deficiency Syndrome, you can't call it airborne AIDS.

Same demographic, in a warehouse manufacturing job, and I've gotten basically no flack from wearing an aura at work all day. Just a few questions about if I wear it every where or just at work, and asking how I can wear it so much? Answer: I'm very powerful. Based on how often coworker come to me with questions and for help, I'm one of the more respected members of the crew. So wearing a mask isn't destroying my social status or anything.

Worst encounter was a strung out dude in rural Oregon who followed us and kept saying "WUHAN WUHAN WUHAN" while we were walking down a sidewalk.

But not breathing in fiberglass, metal dust, wood particles, virus particles, or any of the other particle hazards encountered in workplaces is literally the reason that the standard exists. I wear an aura for 9+ hours a day in a warehouse manufacturing job, so I really don't have any sympathy for someone who can't deal with making for 20 minutes in a grocery store.

Got some moth juice at Costco today. Pharmacist said that they were only going to do Noxavax on Fridays, because they had a limited supply of 5 dose vials, but they got some extras in last night, so we got lucky to have our appointments honored. $140 each with Costco membership, and I get to try getting reimbursement from Kaiser. 8 hours in, and no real side effects. Arm is sore like a lite punch. The back of my foot hurts, but I doubt that's the vaccine. Afair, bad stuff started around hours 8-12 with the mRNA shots. It's weird how every other vax does basically nothing to me, but the COVID ones give me 24 hours of kick-my-rear end flu symptoms. Flu, Tdap, chicken pox, hepatitis, pneumonia, and MMR were all just some injection site soreness.

Zantie posted:In other news it's been 24 hours since my Novavax shot and I'm happy to report the worst symptom was arm pain! I definitely recommend trying it over Moderna if you are the type to have a rough time with it. I got my novavax shot a couple hours before work, did a full day of work running cables, then went home to sleep. Only side effect was that my arm was a little sore, I did feel that arm was off a couple times when I tried pulling with my left arm. But overall it was nothing like the mRNA shots. I wouldn't have been able to work after getting those, because I would have been curled up in a shivering, sweating ball. A+, will bring a moth again.
