Bunch of questions:

1) Anyone do an assessment of the augments yet? I run melee classes but I maxed out Archer for the climbing poo poo augment as well because of course I would like it for melee shenanigans. I'm also eyeing suffering through maxing out Mage just for the stamina recovery speed augment, which can very well be an issue as a melee character unless you go insanely hard on chugging stamina items whenever.

2) Warfarer, how does it work? Do you equip the weapons you want, and using their appropriate vocation skills switches you to that weapon? Or do you need Rearmament to be able to switch weapons and thus movesets at all? I was thinking of a Fighter/Warrior hybrid, with Fighter's dashing stab and climbing monster stab, with the Warrior's shoryuken. If I don't need Rearmament, I'm slotting in the Fighter's autoparry or an Archer skill just for those goddamn harpies.

1) No idea of the numbers. I suffered through 9 ranks of mage for the stamina regen augment. You still end up huffing fumes and have to chug items.

2) You can equip whatever weapons and armor you want. You need to use Rearmament if you want to use their skills quickly(unless you want to dive into the menu every time). I would 100% suggest carrying the lightest staff you can find so you can swap to it in places where you might want to use Levitate.

What do you mean quickly? If I'm not using Rearmament, does that mean I'm switching weapons (and thus skillsets) by going into the equip screen (which IIRC can't be done while in combat)?

RubberLuffy explained it better, but yes without Rearmament you are manually swapping weapons while out of combat.

Didn't really end up using anything else since those three carried the game so hard for me.

Worst enemy type to deal with were the late game Saurians since they resist magic a fuckton but even Frost Seeker would generally either stagger or freeze them for my Warrior pawn to apply greatsword.

You should really try Sagittate Downpour / Avalanche. It is absolutely ridiculous for single target damage and their most powerful skill outside of the ultimate. It's even better than Frostseeker. At the very least it should be used during stagger phases.

e: It's also the only physical damage type skill that Magick Archers get. So it should be on your skill bar for that reason alone.

I get that sometimes there's a topic du jour that people will bat back and forth for a bit, but at its peak, it seemed like at least half of the posts in the sub were one form or another of complaining about the game. Like, if reading the sub were your only exposure to the game, you'd think Itsuno personally went to every redditor's house and shot their dog or something. Not to say that the game is flawless, but I've just been over here enjoying the journey (literally and metaphorically), climbing on big monsters and savoring the hammy pawn banter. It's like reddit wants to hate the game, for some weird reason

I am enjoying the game a lot but I will agree with the lack of monster variety. Besides the performance, that's the thing I am most disappointed about. Seems like they barely added any new monsters. Also you are fighting goblins and wolves 60% of the time.

Basically as soon as you get to Bakbattahl. But it really depends on how much you struggle to kill stuff as the quest involves escorting a NCP through some high level monsters. You can run past monsters to get there, but you can't really avoid them while escorting him.

I think so. You have like 7-8 so don't be too precious with them. Also don't forget you can use the godsway on yourself to commit suicide and then revive with a wakestone at full hp. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WAKESTONE IN YOUR INVENTORY or you will end your run in a hilarious fashion. And of course rent out new pawns to restore their max hp as well.

There is a timer but it only advances when you sleep. iirc the limit is 7, maybe 8 rests. Though you can kill yourself with the Godsway and then revive with a wakestone, and recruit new pawns to restore their max hp.

So basically you can ignore the gimmick completely doing those two things. I think you need to rest at least once to get everyone you rescued to show up at the seafloor shrine.

No idea for the sculptors quest. If you go into your inventory, equip it, go back into your inventory and select brandish so that it fires a petrifying gaze, it's probably good enough for the quest.

You get a trophy for getting a preserved head and then another trophy for using it to petrify medusa herself. Toss it into storage, rest for 7 days so she respawns, then run back there and do it.

I just want to throw both of them in the ocean but alas there is no more ocean. The worst part is I have already escorted both of these fuckers to the exact same spot on different occasions. It's like a double dose of an already crappy mission.

There's just so many layers of why the escort missions suck imo. First off there is nothing interesting about them it's literally just busywork. People need to get from point a to b with no context and little reward. The destinations are far, the rewards are low. But the worst part is how easy it is to lose track of NPCs. They are slow as gently caress and the trek is so long it's easy to just forget about them or they die to monsters. If they die their marker disappears and you have to just cross your fingers that you can find their body, or abandon the quest, then get them from the morgue and do it all over again. If you let them get too far behind they just walk back home (and usually just die along the way)

Best case scenario for escort quests is wasting a ferrystone to get them there quickly for a reward that is far less valuable than a ferrystone.

That one was extremely easy? Like, you had to walk there in the first place. Which meant clearing everything.

All you are doing is walking back since all the monsters are dead. I sprinted most of the time and neither one got lost or stuck on anything either.

e: in a game that has 0 respect for your time, that escort mission doesn't even break the top 10
