I had someone try to tell me the other day that fuel injected bikes "learn" their rider's habits and adjust fueling accordingly. That's total bullshit, right?

Sort of a dumb question but do they make a battery tender that has its own battery? I don't have a garage anymore ( ) and there's nowhere to plug in at my apartment lot

Can any FZ-07 owners offer opinions on aftermarket exhausts? Yea or nay? Half the time I really enjoy how quiet this bike is (especially living in an apartment complex), but there are other times I wish the bike didn't sound like a wet fart. I've done a little bit of research and it looks like you pretty much have to get a tune if you fit an aftermarket pipe. The bike is already plenty powerful and I'm not super hype on dropping like 1500 on performance upgrades I just wanted it a bit throatier sounding.

They don't feel very sticky though, so if you have a lot of canyon riding to do then they might not be your first choice. I found them pretty cheap though, so I'm happy. I am. Most of my commute stays in Ventura county but I also have to be at an office in Santa Monica occasionally. I do a lot of cutting through the Santa Monica mountains when the 101-405 interchange is backed up. Don't really push the bike hard or anything but I can recognize good tires and feel more confident when I have them.

Pretty sure they do say Battlax on the side. I'm at about 3k miles so it's not super pressing to get new ones yet. I am slipping the rear a lot off the line now though. Maybe that's just me riding like a dong FZ 07 to VFR huh? That's... quite possibly the same direction I might be headed. I want something with more luggage, ABS, traction control, heated grips, self canceling turn signals, VTEC. Do you like it? I justify that stuff to myself because I refuse to own a car. I think lanesplitting might suck with panniers though. I also really miss my old Honda so I just want to get another Honda. I'm at about 4000mi now and the oil in my FZ's sightglass is looking kinda gross. It's not all the way black but it's definitely not a golden clear like when I got it. The first oil change was at 600 miles and the service manual says I don't have to change it again until 6000. Should I change it anyway or just leave it?

I split everywhere, in every lane configuration, at all speeds and all times. If the exit ramp is backed up, I split that depending on which side of the lane is being hogged by cars. If both sides are hogged, I'll sidle up on the shoulder. But generally keep it below 50mph. Different story in the county, but if I'm doing 50 on a freeway in LA I'm pretty happy as it is If you're on the freeway split the far left lanes until you need to exit, or if you need to pass a slower splitter who isn't paying attention to their mirrors you can go around on the lane to the right. Just take it easy at first. When faster people get up on your rear end, be polite and let them pass, they got poo poo to do. Give a peace sign or thumbs up to cars who notice you and move out of your way. Keep an eye out for people changing lanes without signals. If they merge into you, just deal with it. Maybe give them a little horn if it's real bad but I usually just go around them
