It's so refreshing to see a poo poo show like that resolved publicly and sincerely and not immediately try and turn it into a worked-shoot angle for HEAAAAAAAAAT that the average wrestling fan is not going to know or care about.

Both guys were right for different reasons, but neither were 100% right and it turned much uglier than it should've been. This is such a breath of fresh air considering how toxic wrestling's been basically forever.

DDT is a pretty loose promotion as far as who they employ/use. It's not that they keep around serial abusers or anything like that, but they definitely look past a lot of things, especially if a person is from America. You have to be spectacularly bad to get fired from DDT Pro, all he had to do was just not use Twitter and he'd probably still employed at least somewhere.

Taz has sounded like such a bitter, miserable prick basically since he started wrestling and seeing him actually enjoying wrestling, laughing, and having fun in AEW is one of the biggest selling points to wrestlers that you could possibly have.

Excalibur has that effect on everyone, both Ross and Tony have been shocked at the deep cuts that Ex can pull out of the air and he can send both into giggle fits. The initial reaction to Excalibur is always "Who is this mark, why is he wearing a mask on commentary, is he putting himself over?" and after a session or two they end up loving him because he's so knowledgeable and fun to bounce off of as a commentator. He's a total natural and is a shoe-in for the best commentator of the modern era

Taz is allowed to be goofy with Excalibur because he's a generally neutral play by play guy, he respects Jim Ross as his senior, but I will never stop laughing at Taz taking jabs at Tony who has no idea how to react to what Taz says.

Tony being the butt of jokes is one of my favorite AEW shticks, he's such a likable guy and every one of his friends just wants to dunk on him relentlessly including Aubrey in their podcast.

Well yeah, I remember why I stopped watching G4 the first time. It's because they stripped out all the original programming and shows to save money and then ran almost nothing but Ninja Warrior and Star Trek 24 hours a day. And sure, Star Trek is great and all but there's like 5 other channels on American cable that also re-run Star Trek all day.

G4 and Tech TV both individually had good programming before the merger, but the guy who bought TechTV out had no idea what he was doing and just torpedo'd the channel.

But fair, yeah Twitch and YouTube already exist and give you everything tech and gaming related you could ever want so it's more of a nostalgia run than anything else.

Dan puts 100% into everything he does. The best Giant Bomb content after Ryan Davis passed was Dan just dragging Jeff and Drew into playing the things he wanted to do (Metal Gear Solid and Mario Party) and I know he's playing up his character to some degree but he works hard to make content.

I buy into his stories of never trying mayonnaise, Taco Bell being his favorite food, thinking glasses were cool when he was a kid and faking an eye test then ruining his sight and the Tornado story where he walked out of his dorm and just said "Nope, not dealing with this" and fell asleep in a closet.

He's was a sheltered manchild but he's a great producer and content creator, eventually he's going to end up being the main writer in WWE because that's just the story of Dan Rykert. He's an idiot savant

The WWE pretty much successfully killed the UK scene, so signing with NXT UK is more or less the only option they've got to make money there. The WWE does almost no promotion for NXT UK and the one time they had a genuinely banger of a match that got universal praise, they......Still didn't promote it. NXT UK was a knee-jerk reaction to World of Sport and an attempt to cut it off at the legs, then they just partnered with the two biggest companies there & signed a majority of the talent. Considering Dunne, Balor, Walter, and Toni Storm are just in NXT-USA now I don't think they give a single poo poo about UK talent, they just don't want competition.

They had tried to do a similar thing in Japan and then NJPW's parent company bought Stardom and DDT's parent company bought NOAH and the collective of Japan's pro wrestling scene told them to gently caress off. WWE only ended up with Saree and Meiko Satomura in the end (And Meiko went to NXT UK lol)

Io Shirai was one of the best wrestlers in the world, signed to WWE around 4 years and she's on a brand getting less viewers than AEW is. From what I keep hearing the money isn't even that good for NXT contracts either so unless you're signing with WWE to basically retire I can't see how it's worth it. They've got like 300 people on the roster, they use like 25 each on Smackdown and Raw so there's no guarantee you're even getting paid in exposure.
