I didn't even know Hate Plus was a thing. Wonder how'll she'll justify a limited interface this time? I assume it'll follow bringing both back, so *Mute is in for some mindbreaking revelations, which was one thing I sure loving felt the original release lacked. Can't say I care much about hearing how society on the ship broke down though, to me that was something that we just kind of had to accept, e: it was mentioned she talks about her update progress on twitter so I thought I'd check that out. Artificer posted:I hope she isn't, because that sounds absolutely incredibly amazing if she can pull it off well. I have pretty high hopes since she did Analogue pretty well, and she did delay Hope Plus for a long time to presumably prep for this. Hell, Analogue is quite a step up from Digital, which was her first one, afaik, so it might be possible. Hm, at the same time I wonder if maybe it's wasteful effort in some cases. For example, I wonder how many people would really have bothered to do *Mute solo for anything other than completion purposes? She's kind of, ya know, insufferable. As for Analogue vs Digital, I just played the latter for the first time yesterday, and found it rather interesting, if flawed. I will say that Digital's soundtrack blows Analogue's out of the water though. Whatever the case, I'll probably end up getting it, even I'd rather see her move onto something else than provide information I'm not sure we really needed.

For my part, I felt like there was no possible way she could have explained it that I'd swallow, so leaving it as an unknown was simply the best way to deal with it. MuvLuv is not the best VN, but it is unmatched in schaudenfreude based entertainment. I remember watching my IRL friend do this part of the game. It really is amazing how very genuinely stressed out it makes people.

And I thought that it was needlessly porned up, though it felt like they tried to be all soft core and tasteful the dialog undid all that... I can't even say it was needless anymore because important plot points get brought up during them. The in between parts ranged from atmospheric and mysterious to apologetically fantastic. The art style was incredible. The music made the game vivid and the action scenes really intense. It had interesting doodle cameos of famous literary characters. As much as you may dislike the sex scenes in Forest, Hoshizora Meteor probably liked them even less, given that being forced to do them is purportedly why he left Liarsoft. Other than that I absolutely love how insane Forest is, I'll totally be reading Fire Girl for more Meteor.

But that was not a very long discussion! There were only like four replies there about the plot. I'm still left with questions but they're not so formless and bewildered as before. Thank you for this. Well a lot of it is purely subjective. Forest is a commentary on storytelling itself (which is part of the reason Umineko is accused of cribbing from it, though I'll not get into that), and I don't necessarily agree with every conclusion my friends there reached. For example I don't agree with some of their conclusions about Amomori, Kako, and other such things. but it's been too long since I've played to really get into the details of it. Draw what conclusions you like. It's a cool game I think, despite the flaws. soundtrack and visuals.

I'd rather not see a HF series be made made, since it's not like the other two got properly animated and you can't just separate FSN routes from one another like that. Also I'd kind of like them to stop milking Fate for a good long while, but that will never happen.

The good news is that the entire last third of MLA isn't much better, but is indeed better than that scene. Really, after the two bits that we all get excited for when new players pick it up pass by and once you've had your first proper battle with the BETA, MLA just becomes boring at best.
