It might be a bit of a one-note costume, but I always thought that if I had lost a hand, it would be fun to cosplay as Marty McFly in 1955, slowly disappearing.

Hey, that's me!

My point of pride for this costume: I found out the actor's height and spent a LOT of time looking at reference pictures and calculating angles and lengths for all the bits on the helmet. Thanks to that, I think I got the proportions better than a lot of other Pyramid Heads I've seen out there. They often make the helmet way too big and it looks like a baby Pyramid Head wearing his dad's suit.

Though, I've found even more reference photos since then, and I've been meaning to revisit this costume sometime and make it more...convention quality. The helmet paintjob was lazy (straight out of a Rustoleum can), and the apron paint sadly peeled off (you can see it starting in a few spots), and I kinda want to custom-paint a zentai suit to show all of the scars and bruises and stuff without having to apply makeup every time.

I don't know, from the neck down she still looks like a random person from the Mad Max universe, its just that from the neck up she has a (really well done) mask and makeup of a specific character. If she was cosplaying as Lord Humungus you would probably expect her to change the outfit slightly to fit her gender (partially so she wouldn't get arrested).

Nah, from the neck down, she looks like a standard goth/punk/whatever-the-kids-are-calling-it-these-days. No dirt, no rust, no tattered rags, no cobbled-together anything - everything is very clean and proper and fashionable.

I'm not gonna be a judgmental dick who says that she can't have fun and dress up as whatever she wants. That's totally her prerogative, and I bet she had a blast! That's what costuming is all about. But in my mind, this is a custom costume, rather than "cosplay" proper. And as far as "Immortan Joe cosplay" goes, I would say that it is MEDIOCRE

My logical mind is aware that these costumes are super well done, and I was trying to figure out why I thought the picture looked a little...off. Then I realized that this Marceline's vampire teeth are on her incisors, rather than her canines (as seen in every other vampire portrayal, ever), so it doesn't look like a vampire is "supposed" to look. So. Honest question. Even if I can supply my own horse teeth how much would a full-on Immortan Joe cosplay cost?

There's a thread at the Replica Prop Forum (not sure if a membership is necessary to read it) where they're going into great detail to identify all of the pieces: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=240451

Short version, on top of the mask you'd have to buy a bunch of vintage auto namebadges and hard-to-find pins and patches (or 3D-print copies of them), old Nokia circuit boards, various nuts and bolts, pistons, bicycle chain... The clear armor itself is probably easiest to make from transparent thermoplastic Worbla (~$100 for one torso-sized sheet, probably need a couple) molded over Roman muscle armor ($70 on Amazon). And then there's the boots, the bellows attached to the mask, and the guns/holsters...

All of this except save yourself some money and buy sheet PETG instead because it is hilariously cheaper than Worbla TranspArt and does basically the same stuff

Noted! Thank you for the tip, this will be helpful once I start getting full-bore into my own Immortan Joe costume. Although...if I want PETG on the thicker side (so my armor doesn't bend all over the place), is it still going to be cheaper?

I think most costumes of this style are custom-designed patterns that are dye-sublimation printed on lycra, then sewn up by the cosplayer. I don't think there's a "base" lycra with that design on it. That said, there are definitely folks who you can commission to design you a printing pattern that you can then send to be dye-subbed.
