You missed and/or ignored the recommendation of Disaster in the last thread, so... Disaster: Day of Crisis by Coulis and friends - Disaster is a Wii game only released in Japan and Europe that tries to tell a completely serious story about a city suffering from natural disasters, and fails miserably at it on account of having absurd gameplay mechanics and characters. Sadly, the LP was never finished, but the thirteen existing episodes are some of the funniest stuff you can find on these forums.

I just remembered two great LPs of hilariously bad games. http://lparchive.org/The-Sniper-2/ quote:The Sniper 2 is a budget title released for the PS2 in 2002, although it’s not apparent it was released for the platform when you actually look at it. It looks bad, it plays bad, and there’s little in the way of redeeming qualities other than it’s good for a laugh. http://lparchive.org/Stolen/ quote:Stolen is a 2005 attempt at cashing in on the relative popularity of the stealth genre. It does this, naturally, by stealing mechanics from other games but with none of the talent that made those mechanics work.

Someone who is a friend of RooseveltMD (or the man himself, I guess) or someone who can host videos, please PM me about the ~10 GB of Harry Potter videos, and please upload them to a video host for the public after you get them from me. I have uploaded them to my Dropbox, but would like to avoid handing links out here, as the last time I did that my Dropbox account's public file access got shut down due to bandwidth.

Camel Pimp posted:So I just finished the Disaster Day of Crisis LP and I'm mad at myself for not watching it earlier. The game is a bizarre mash-up of Wii waggle and 15 different Roland Emmerich movies haphazardly stapled together. It is beautiful. I still think that the unfinished Coulis LP of this is the funniest thing that has ever come out of this subforum.

That's actually not the same LP, but it is the funniest LP so enjoy anyway.Kaubocks posted:I only watched DoctorKill's Ocarina of Time LP but I liked it a lot. It starts out really rough but he eventually switches to post- and co-commentary which I feel both worked a lot better for him. Sometimes he got a dud guest since he didn't know most of them before he started recording, but there were far more good episodes than bad episodes overall and it showcased tons of wacky bugs. For those unaware, he recently started a Majora's Mask LP with the same theme, and apparently Majora, despite running on pretty much the same engine, is hosed up in completely different ways than Ocarina. I recommend it. http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3745367 Admiral H. Curtiss fucked around with this message at 21:06 on Nov 5, 2015 |

I remember there being a time around the Google Video shutdown where they exported those videos to Youtube. Can't remember if it was automatic or manual or whatever but that definitely happened in some way.

Faerie Fortune posted:Alternatively a thing I've been doing recently is watching the Super Meat Boy races that Smite hosted a while back! I have like...zero interest in the game but its fun to listen to people get together and race, and watching the bonus races is what inspired me to start hosting my own! In the same vein, we also had the Mega Man races before and the Mario 64 races afterwards. You can also find random other race videos scattered around Youtube channels of some of the people involved in them, here's a pretty decent but incomplete playlist.

ArclightBorealis posted:I'm looking for some recent LPs of the GBA and DS Castlevania games, as after perusing what's on the Archive, most of them didn't have any Youtube links as they were hosted on Blip or other old video hosting sites that are no longer around. Browsing the Master List didn't bring up much else either. Are there any from the forums archives that would be good watching? I want to say there was an Aria of Sorrow LP a year or two ago but at the time it never crossed my mind to check it, and now I find myself in the mood for Metroidvanias. I remember these being pretty fun, and they have Youtube links, just click the game image instead of the "blip mirror" next to it.
