IG-2000 will be the first, and probably the only large-based ship I will get two of. It sounds like it'll make a hilarious duo list.

Because I have problems, I've pored over every pixel of the card fan. Here's what I can tell you:

-There are 4x of each of the X1 title and Advanced Targeting Computer upgrades
-There are 6 pilot cards, which means they could have fit them all on 3 ship base tokens, but there are 4 ship bases. Presumably this means they didn't print two named pilots on two sides of one token.

Fantasy Flight Games: they'll make you buy a $100 ship for patches to a ship you already own, but at least they won't be complete dicks about it.

Is that an Emperor Palpatine crew card I see? :fap:

I'd just assumed by 2016 they'd be releasing ships from Episode VII, with the next two movies every subsequent year to keep things moving. Has FFG ever made any official statement on whether or not they plan to embrace the new films? I never expected them to release any of the prequel trilogy clone wars crap, but that's more because it's a dark patch of history I think we'd all rather forget.

I think currently they only have licenses for the original trilogy and legacy EU stuff, but with the new Imperial Raider, I'm not really sure what else their license entails. It'll probably depend on what Disney wants to charge them to license out the new stuff.

I like having two of each ship and it was 30% off so while I'll probably not ever run two I guess theoretically I could run both Whisper and Echo in epic play or something.

Similarly with the second E-Wing I got from a buddy for Christmas, not sure I'd run two but I'm not gonna say no to another copy of Advanced Sensors.

I was totally hyped for Armada until I saw the price point, and then decided, eh, I'm already invested into X-Wing, I don't need a different game that does mostly the same thing.

Are tie interceptors really hard to find or did I just decide to get into this game at a weird time?

FFG tends to underestimate demand for ships when they send an order to the Chinese factories, but on the other hand, they're really good about putting new orders in. Estimates for a new bunch of Interceptor packs to hit shelves is February, I believe. In general, expect a limited time where you can find a specific ships for decent prices.

Don't pay over MSRP ever, ships go in and out of stock depending on FFG's print runs, there's supposed to be a really big restock coming in February. But most board game/miniatures/Amazon sites will sell ships for good prices when they aren't between printings.

You only take 'fly through' penalties if the movement template overlaps an obstacle when you place it in front of your ship. So if the front of your ship is past the obstacle when you land on it, you won't fly through it, per se, when you fly off it.

Would you say the star viper is the only ship that's needed for cards (auto thruster) that rebels/imperials might want? Aside from maybe the off chance that Y-wings become viable again.

I haven't opened the Starviper yet so I don't know what else it comes with (couldn't find my scissors to deal with that drat clamshell before the Champions League came on) but I've been a big fan of the Mangler Cannon since it was spoiled, and would probably run it on an Outrider, if I was using one. I really like the BTL upgrade, but Y-Wings are my favorite Rebel fighter, and until the rebels get some other pilots for them I don't think it's really mandatory. Bomb Loadout is kind of a gimmick.

I'd have to look at the cards more, but autothrusters were the only reason I bought a Starviper today was to get them before the thing sold out.

I think it depends on what you're wanting to play, but from the very start Autothrusters and Mangler Cannon were the only things I really wanted for imperials and rebels respectively. Autoblaster Turret might end up being okay, I suppose.

I really think after playing B&C, that B&D is the way to go. Segnor's with a turn template is ridiculous, you can take the HLC and have four dice range 1-3 (just use primary at range one), and use advanced sensors to boost before looping to get your evade token. And also fly around the board like a crazy man.

B is really nice with Manglers, but I just feel that D gives you more options and can really prevent your opponent from having any idea where you're going to go.

I tend to buy at least one of everything, and two of most releases anyways, so the upgrades in subsequent releases aren't a huge deal. The only ships I've bought solely for cards were my second TIE Defender for a second Predator for store champs, and kinda/sorta the Starviper for Autothrusters, since I don't really see myself running the ship itself. I'll be unhappy if I feel the need to buy a second starviper, at least I can ostensibly run Jonus + 2x Defender, but I can't see myself ever putting a pair of Starvipers in a list.

VVV edit VVV Luckily I don't have much of a desire to run poo poo like 4B or whatever, so that's not really an issue for me.

I'm unclear on the new Inquisitor's card text, but does the defending ship get an extra green dice at range 3 against him?

I read it as no, since it's listed as "treat the range of the attack" and not something like "Treat your ship as being at range 1."

I'm also digging that the Assault Carrier is in 1/270 and not the relative scale of the other huge ships. Which of course means it'll look goofy next to the others, but shouldn't look nearly as goofy as the GR75 next to a fighter, for example.

e: squinting at cards lol

TIE v1 title lets you do something after a target lock, Mist Hunter title lets you barrel roll but has something regarding tractor beams.
