I fully believe C9 will find themselves at some point this season and put in a run, until then it's a crapshoot with Liquid, TSM and CLG by the looks of things, with TSM probably now favourites.

Hai is bad at utility mages. He plays best as an initiator/playmaker, he has always been extremely mediocre off those champions. I agree he's not playing well right now, but trying to fix it that way probably won't end that well.

Soraka and Lulu (especially Soraka) are not high-skillcap champions. Being OK at those is not really a thing. Orianna, Xerath, Nidalee are way more indicative. Hai has always historically shown low affinity for mages like Orianna, or poke mages. It's not necessarily that he has dreadful games on them - particularly since they're safer than his champions - but he is usually the C9 player to start poo poo, and they often suffer when he doesn't. He belongs on Fizz/LB/Zed/Riven/Talon, he's just in bad form.

If he doesn't play those champs, Meteos, Balls and Lemon have to get better at initiating and playmaking.

Tabbz.

I'm pretty sure it's partly because the 3 older guys have big egos and are very complacent in their way of doing things and approach, and have a set pattern of socialising. I think it's pretty hard to come in as a younger guy there unless you're very similar to them in personality as well as approach.

You're an idiot.

Faker is by far the best player ever in this game, as well as by far the best mid laner. You're saying that it would be the best thing to do for Faker to become just a good or very good jungler (although solo queue jungle is incredibly different from competitive jungle) so that a mid-high- tier OGN mid can play mid and Bengi should get dropped.

More like: SKT should play Faker every game and get a better jungler or Faker should threaten to leave.

A person can only be the best person ever in his role at one position. It's loving heresy to say that a person who could be, for example, the best quarterback ever should become just a pro-bowl borderline running back because that might make good team sense.

More like his team should unfuck itself.

In hindsight, I think he just got lucky. He had some very flashy lee sin games in preseason that got the Bengi's Back train rolling, but it turns out it was just some good mechanical plays on a champion that makes good mechanical plays look awesome. I do not think his mechanics were ever much in doubt. His toilet status is mostly on his decision making, pathing, and constant dying right now.

I hope SKT is looking for an upgrade somewhere.

Nah. His mechanics were worse in his long slump in the last 6 months. There was a noticeable jump in performance. Maybe he likes it when the pressure is off, maybe he got a morale boost from the change before he resettled - who knows. But it would definitely be enough to trick a coach into thinking he got his mojo back. Even so, his team should be enough to carry even a fairly average jungler, I feel like SKT is a bit of a hosed up org on some level.

But when you have a superstar of any kind, normally you should be trying to work around that guy's talent, rather than trying to gently caress with that guy to make the other pieces work better.

The funny thing is that when goons were watching the TSM-CLG game on mumble they were saying 'Wow Dlift has been really on point dodging Ahri charms so far' at like 20 minutes in. I insisted Dlift would walk in face first and eat a CC at some stage, I wasn't disappointed :smugdog:

I honestly think Link did a bigger throw by far by ulting himself in the earlier fight, though. I also think Dlift should always play autoattack based champions or Ezreal, Corki is not his bag.

The problem with superteams is that they ignore synergy. Aphro is great but he also has great synergy with Dlift and breaking that up seems to me a bad idea, same for Sneaky and Lemon, Meteos and Balls etc. You don't know how different superstars will interact stylistically or in personality terms - just look at Rekkles + Froggen, which is arguably worse than Tabbz because Rekkles reinforces Elements bad habits and brings passive aggressive negativity, even though he is probably a better player overall.

Assuming clones, I think it would be hard to beat TSM with a team of NA components (with TSM members). I think that is less true for EU where you could probably upgrade Fox (or maybe nrated, but that botlane is beast so probably not) out of SK and make them godly.

Ignoring synergy/intangibles NA's superteam for me is probably:

Dyrus
Meteos (bad run of form but it's the whole team and he is the only top tier jungler NA has basically ever had since early Saintvicious days)
Bjergsen
Sneaky (I don't think he has the highest ceiling but he's just too consistently an 8/9 out of 10 right now. Turtle needs keep posting results to get back up there for me)
Lustboy/Aphro (I think Lustboy is better overall but Aphro is more of a playmaker/shotcaller and it depends what qualities you want).

Yea, but Wildturtle is a beast laner in soloqueue and they might be able to carry more out of the botlane with Aphromoo. If they had Aphro & played the same style I think it would be a mistake. Having Aphro diversifies their potential play stylings. TSM seems to realize they need to open up the amount of comps & gold distributions on the team though so we'll see what stuff they start to run.

He also had a bad run of form all through last split and only played consistently well on a passive farm-heavy champion. Also all the arguments you made about Turtle also apply to Lust, who is already showing he can play more aggressively if needed. He just has to get over the habit of playing passive after years of bodyguarding Cpt. Jack.

Yeah and then imagine that coordinated invades and sharing camps with your top laner were a thing you had to deal with every day alongside about 5 or 6 highly contested smite battles per 30 minutes. Being a jungler sucks now, and being a pro jungler is like a super high stressful version of an already lovely job.

Particularly since every time junglers being able to carry becomes a thing riot headshots it immediately (though usually this is a loving overtuned champion with bad lane matchups like Khazix).

Teams pick Corki to poo poo damage in early sieges and drag fights, if he dumps the 700 gold for tear he loses a lot of that advantage.
