I like to think Watson's brain is powered by a little hamster running on a wheel. :3:

Sadly, I bet if today's channel 9 cricket commentary were giving analysis on this they would give the complete opposite opinion because the Australian cricket team doth no wrong.

Feels weird going into a WC final as a one-eyed Australian supporter and only being interested in it being a good game. Normally i want a bloodbath. I kinda want NZ to win this thing...
I'm mostly the same. Similarly to the Rugby League national teams, I find NZ have significantly less twats in their team so that it wouldn't bother me if we lost to them.

That said though, unlike Rugby League I will be cheering for Aus to win.

Australia have some likeable players. Steve Smith is a bit of a poo poo stirrer but in the way most cricket fans like. More sanga than Warner. Haddin is such an old rogue its hard for me to dislike him and I think for fast bowlers Johnson, Starc and Haze are pretty chill.
That's true. Maybe it's just the Watto factor clouding my perspective of the team. :v:

I was going to say Watson peaked early and they've been picking him on the assumption he can regain that form, but looking at it he didn't get a 50 till his 5th test and a century till his 15th.

Maybe he's just too marketable to drop.
I thought they still pick him to justify having him on a $2mil retainer. :v:

Obviously he's been pretty average for a while now and needed to be moved on, but it's a bit of a worry that CA seems to have done it after a test where Watto wasn't the worst. Comes across as caving in to social media or something.

Winning the toss doesn't necessarily mean you bat first though.

I think they should at least try to coin toss the first test then alternate the decision for every test after. I bet the pitches would be doctored accordingly but that's probably gonna happen anyway.
Maybe they should do something not luck based, like a bowl off or a beer skolling contest before the first morning's play.
