The series should end with a timeskip forward to Takeo and Yamato married with a kid and Takeo working in an office while Suna is a firefighter. I need to see giant grown-up Takeo going out on sales calls and attending meetings. Okay, now I'm watching episode 3 again and I really need to see Takeo emerging from under the cot mixed with the "something badass is happening" short musical stinger from Evangelion. So far it hasn't been a big deal, but I could see it causing a big conflict later on, specifically toward the end of the series/season. Nice to see the T-Shirt make its appearance, and that it got the English right. Suna on the bench got me a bit teary-eyed, I admit. Other highlights: -Yamato's swirly bowling ball throw -Happy Birthday song and Yamato's wish -Yamato hopping telling Takeo to go be with Suna -Doctor  -Suna's sister immediately turning cutesy when she sees Takeo's there -Yamato making a pretty multi-colored crane wreath -Yamato wearing the brooch Takeo got her as a present -TO THE BUTT-PINE! Basically the whole episode was great, if it had a crazy Takeo feat of strength like catching a girder or jumping out of a burning building it would be my favorite one so far.

I like that Yamato is taking the lead in advancing the relationship physically, even if it's by little steps. Kind of refreshing after seeing the guy being the one doing that 99% of the time. At this point I can only see Takeo kissing Yamato if he'd just rescued her from drowning and was performing CPR, and even then I think he'd agonize over it for awhile. It's been a very direct translation from the manga so far, but they're doing it perfectly so no complaints on my end. Highlights of the episode for me were Yamato's ghosts, Yamato's friends, and Team Boar blasting of agaaaain.

On a related note, I don't think we've seen the last of Takeo being clueless regarding Yamato's interest in him physically, and I fully expect him to miss cues that she wants to hug or kiss him. This cluelessness has been a consistent character trait of his, and showed up during this episode as well with him thinking "Wow, she's really worried" while she's freaking out about sleeping next to him. I also wonder how they'll handle Takeo meeting Yamato's parents. As much as the show avoids drama and standard shoujo conventions, I just can't imagine they instantly accept him, and I think they can do some fun stuff with Takeo earning their respect by suplexing someone who robs them or something. Or they could go the other way and have Yamato's dad be a straight up muscley giant bodybuilder who approves of Takeo immediately, but whose existence opens up all kinds of uncomfortable psychological interpretations.

So good, I liked Yamato going right for the sexiest swimsuits ever and Takeo building an impregnable sand fort for Yamato's drawing. I'm totally fine with about 10 more episodes of Takeo x Yamato cute miscommunication and relationship shenanigans, then a big crisis right before the end, and then ending with them finally kissing. They've subverted enough Shoujo conventions already, finish it up straight up. Actually, I'd like them to still subvert it a bit and have someone really mess with Suna in a way that Takeo can't use raw strength to fix, and then he thinks of a way to save the day at the end.

Alas, Suna's sister is an older woman, so we're already at one. This does remind me that Yamato showing the first hints about being territorial and worried that other women will steal Takeo from her was pretty cute, and I want to see that developed more.

I feel like a natural Suna storyline would be for him to fall in love with a girl who doesn't immediately swoon over him due to her being an interesting and fun person and such a refreshing change of pace from what he's used to. I have no idea where they'd find a mythical girl like that though. I'm also worried that something serious will happen to Yamato, like getting beaten up by thugs badly when Takeo isn't around, and then he'll tear Tokyo apart for revenge  .

I'm a bit fixated on something dramatic happening at the end of the series specifically because it's been so light-hearted so far. If we get to the last few episodes and the big development is "Takeo tried to cook something for Yamato but it turned out awful" or something similarly light then I'll feel let down. I love the show and I don't want it to turn into a twisted dark thing or anything, but the finale should feature Yamato and Takeo overcoming the first truly significant challenge to their relationship and becoming a stronger couple for it. That challenge can absolutely be just because of an issue between the two of them, but given how well they've gotten along it's hard to imagine either of them blundering into a major conflict on their own. And in my defense, the show began with someone trying to molest Yamato on a train and Takeo nearly killing the guy who did it because he didn't know his own strength, so I don't think something similar to a random mugging or excessive physical violence from Takeo would be as out of left field as people think.

Nice, on a second look he actually is doing something too by blocking the goalie's view. I mean, it's not like he'd of had a chance to stop the ball anyway, but still. It's one of the few times so far that girls gathering to swoon around him is justified for something more than his looks too, because that was a swag as hell move.

Happy Birthday to Suna and myself, Sept. 13th Birthday Bros  .Also, I don't mind Oda at all. He's not exactly exhibiting normal friendly behavior by showing up unannounced, but it's a far cry from being a stalker in my opinion, and his heart's mostly in the right place. I will grant that he's the most impure character we've seen so far in that he wants Suna's sister to get closure so he can stand even a small chance of being with her, so there is some selfishness there. Oda's an okay guy, we're just so used to seeing paragons of humanity that a normal guy seems awful. Suna needs to learn to read the mood though. Of course, my favorite running gag this episode was Suna having a non caring, zoned out face the whole episode, even when he interrupts Yamato and Takeo at the end. I guess the guy just doesn't really care about MM land.

Suna just needs to join the track team, then we can get Suna x Saijou and be all set. Saijou isn't wrong about a couple strap and a couple wallpaper being overkill though. Takeo and Yamato breaking up would be horrible, but the pain is lessened slightly by the knowledge that he was two girls waiting in the wings and we'll probably see at least one more before the end of the season.

I didn't notice her absence when I was watching it, but yeah Saijou would have been fun to have along there. It was basically just the guys from Takeo's school meeting the girls from Yamato's though, maybe they wanted to keep it that way. It makes sense that Saijou wouldn't want to go though, the wound of being rejected is still fresh and she'd be seeing Takeo and Yamato all lovey-dovey and the rest trying to awkwardly begin relationships with one another, or at least that's what she's probably expecting to see. I really hope we haven't seen the last of her though.
