I just tried it out a bit and am surprised at how polished of a mobile mmo it is. Even has passable voice acting, and character creator with sliders!

I guess it's a monster Hunter type game.

I have.

It's pretty fun thus far and runs reasonably well on my poo poo phone. I like that I can just click through the quests and mindlessly accomplish things.

I'm enjoying this way more than any other phone games right now, and it looks amazing and runs great on ultra on my essential. Hopefully it's not too much p2w later on, but right now I'm really enjoying it.

I definitely recommend others to try it out.

Re: Stardew Valley - any idea if you can increase the size of text? Everything seems so tiny.. I looked at the Options menu but didn't see that as a choice.

I'm not seeing it either, just numbers for some reason. I did move the hotbar to the bottom as it's also too then on the side, but that has a weird graphics issue.

I'm on an essential phone for size reference.

It's what a lot of kids are used to these days.

It's like when we were younger and would laugh at giving someone a controller who doesn't play video games as they spin in a circle looking up the entire time.

It's readable, but imagine that on a phone screen.. VERY small.

Looks like this is fixed now and item bar is adjustable as well. Way easier to play now, though still buggy.

There is a bunch of these but my experience with them is that it's a neat gimmick but nothing I'd use past installing and messing around with for a few minutes.

Google is coming out with a $5 per month gamepass kind of like what Xbox does, but for Android games.

Not really sure if there is a ton of value in that though? https://www.engadget.com/2019/08/01/google-play-pass-monthly-android-app-game-subscription/

It doesn't fit the first gen Xbox pro controllers super well, as it covers up the sync button a bit, but it works perfectly on the 2nd gen elite and Xbox one s controller.

Just grabbed one of these from Walmart for $13. Thanks for the recommendation! Not I can properly play some dead cells and Pascal's wager!

I'm pretty sure Google is on a quest to make the least discoverable storefront possible. Now they've removed the "on sale" list from the premium tab in the store. At some point the play store is just gonna be a button that says "give us $2 and we'll install something on your phone"

They did finally add filters so you can sort by new and rating which is nice if you are searching genres I guess. I use it to look for new roguelikes.

Anyone here playing Random Royale? I just started and am enjoying it so far, however wanted to see if anyone has some tips. Is it best to focus on one card and upgrade it, merge the others, or just merge everything? I have been doing the former and focusing on filling the outlined squares, however still get destroyed most of the time.

If you haven't played it, it is kind of like a 1v1 tower defense game with a lot of random elements.

Hey thread. My elderly mom has been playing a lot of games on her phone - solitaire, block sliding puzzles, word puzzles, etc. - but she has trouble because of invasive ads and in app purchases. She hasn't accidentally bought anything yet, but it's frustrating for her when an ad pops up in her free game, because she won't realize it's an ad.

So I'm getting her an android tablet (Lenovo Tab M8) so she'll have a bigger screen, and I'm looking for recommendations for games. Like I said, card games, block puzzles, word games, etc. or anything that someone with reduced cognitive abilities might be able to play. Paid with no ads or IAP is preferable, or at least free with a no-ads IAP if not that. (I'll be setting it up with my account and removing the card details anyway.)

I recommend that once you get it install dns66 https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.jak_linux.dns66/ that should block most ads.

Do no though that this will remove the ability to get 3x coins by watching an ad or whatever the game gives you for ad watching.

Some of their games haven't been updated to work with newer versions of android, so make sure to check that first before buying them. I have bully, but it just exits on load.
