So I haven't been paying too much attention to the minutia of changes in skills and builds lately. I played with a couple of friends earlier and my friend who is the best of us in raw skill kept falling down like crazy, which is pretty irregular. He primarily copied his old build that focused on Armorer, fat suit, and basically any armor bonus he could get. Is there a better way he could be building for durability?

My setup of fat suit + muscle seems about the same as it used to, so I wonder if he was just unlucky.

It's compatible right now. Just tell it to force load in the GoonMod options and restart the game. Wilko just does that as a precaution. 95+% of the time it's perfectly fine.

Why don't they just make it permanent at this point? While the game will still be around for a while, it doesn't make much sense for a game this old to only periodically allow some content (especially if it's tied to achievements).

I only played a short session solo on normal (as assault), but here's how I feel about RAID so far.

Yeah, it seems like where RAID is currently failing is vague areas relating to feel. The graphics give the impression of a 2009 era game instead of something more recent. Not that they have to be stunning, but the game just looks old.

Then there's the gunfeel, or rather, lack thereof. I just don't feel like I'm getting any real feedback about what the guns are doing. The M1 carbine feels like it's a pea shooter with no recoil but the bullets fly everywhere, so it starts giving flashbacks of Ubersoldier 2 (which is not a compliment) and the broomhandle feels useless at any range beyond an arm's length. The good news is that these are all quite fixable and I'm hoping Overkill can offer assistance in the gunfeel department.

I do like the sense I get of the mechanics overall. Things feel more tight in terms of objectives while allowing me to wander around like an idiot if I choose. Not just bag moving simulator 2000. Although it would be nice to find some loot.

A lot of the design is built off of payday 1, rather than 2- or is entirely its own thing.

Yeah, there's still work to be done, but the game is already better than what it started as. Especially because they gave me the ability to use a BAR.

I went ahead and started goofing around in this again the other day. Just low difficulty soloing. Trying out different weapons and heists I haven't seen before, including the Brothers Grimm. HOLY poo poo I'M IN LOVE.

Say what you will about RAID, at least you can still loving buy it unlike OTWD.

This is an interesting time to be practicing necromancy, Overkill. I'm interested what they even plan to do. Give me the crazy 80s guns I've always wanted and they can have more money from me, that's for sure.
