Cora seems more personable than her haircut makes her look.

She's actually reminding me a little, narratively-speaking, of FemShep.

And you're gonna take her job. :(

Eventually the Initiative obtained promising data from Quarian explorers who claimed to have found a geth array on the fringes of the Perseus Veil. This array was supposedly build from three mass effect relays using sensors in the combined relay corridor as a form of FTL "telescope" to observe dark space beyond the galactic rim. Why the geth expended so much effort to study dark space is not known.

How are the colony ships getting around when they arrive in the new galaxy without mass relays? Doesn't it take like ages to traverse galaxies without them? What's their plan?
It's a little unclear, but the whole Andromeda Initiative -- and thereby this whole game -- only takes place in one single cluster, the Helius Cluster. It's like taking the Normandy around the Argus Rho or Hawking Eta clusters in ME1, and doesn't require mass relays.

This got a bit lost in the usual thread spergathan, but I have to say I really like what I'm seeing here. It definitely feels like combining the vast environments of ME1 with the combat of ME3. The boss battle where it seems you have to hit the weak points to bring down the Contra boss seem real cool.

To be fair to this guy, this seems like a fairly advanced mission. The environment is really complicated and enemies are showing up above, below, behind, and around you, without being too grouped up for easy detonations. I can see this one needing a bit of strategy to navigate as opposed to the, like, Eden Prime-caliber combat shown earlier.

...Which also isn't to say that he's a good player or anything :v:. Seriously, how many times can you miss with your powers?

We're about a week from release. By now we've seen the promotional material, the hands-on impressions, the gameplay, the story, the package all laid out. Short of any massive surprises in the next nine days, it's safe to say that no one's opinion of the game will change very much prior to release.

What I'm basically saying is: It is time.

Yes Bioware the best way to introduce things is to have a stuttering dev talking over all the footage, trying and failing to come up with interesting things to say for three minutes, instead of just showing us the scenes from the game.

Other than that though, despite my initial complaints of their design, I'm glad we finally have a species whose females are way uglier than the males, who are already pretty dire. :haw:

Look at it this way: this is the first entry of a new storyline, so it'd actually be more comparable to ME1 than ME3. Did you like ME1's ending?

Oh dear, the same four or so posters who haven't said anything positive about the game in about three months continue to shout that it'll be a bad game. I guess I'll cancel my pre-order now. :ohdear:

Combat does seem cool from what these vids show, despite some...sigh...really poor playing. Everyone seems to think that the only way to deal with enemy shields is to just...shoot them with your gun, despite the fact that Liam (who's been in every squad so far) apparently has Overload. That one Video Game Sophistry guy who's doing in-depth videos looks to be playing a Sentinel, but I've yet to see him use a single power and, from what I can tell, he seems to have gone through the entire first mission without ever equipping a second power. :psyduck:

This'll probably be the first ME game where my first playthrough will be on hard. No more baby mode for babies!

In regards to that video about squad powers I mentioned earlier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3q_Nd5arZM&t=210s

Looking at it again it does look like you're just ordering them to attack the enemy and if they have powers up then they'll use it. Not as much fine control as I would like, unfortunately.

Are the kett and cat faces the only aliens shown so far from andromeda area of space? Are there any more or are Bioware playing it super safe
I think they mentioned there being more, but something to remember is that there were no Reapers setting up mass relay technology in the Andromeda Galaxy. It's thereby much more difficult for different stellar clusters to travel to each other and set up the sort of Citadel government that the Milky Way had.

v The Kett aren't from the Heleus Cluster, but they could still be from Andromeda.

So are all those mysterious ruins they talk about in the trailers from Milky Way people who left after you but got there before you?
Having the Remnant actually be Milky Way denizens who got infected with the Synthesis ending and then made it to Andromeda faster than you would be a stroke of genius and hilarity...and I highly doubt that's going to be the case. :v:

Speaking on a similar note, though...this playthrough video [heavy spoilers] seems be expanding on a lot of what ME3 had seemed to be trying to set up about conflicts of organic-synthetic coexistence. I'm kind of equally alarmed and fearful that they're going full tilt with the whole organics vs synthetics concept that's pretty connected to that infamously reviled ME3 ending...but at least they're taking some time to set it up as something important here?

I don't know what it is, maybe there is something wrong with me. I'm watching the streams and reading the reviews and...I just cannot think the game is bad.
