Apparently in professional play, it was creatures out front pretty early on (I just looked at some footage from the 96 world championships). But in magazines and the earliest official rulebooks, it was lands out front. Check out this magic puzzle from The Duelist. There are several reddit threads about this - apparently it was a regional thing. Remember in the 1990s we weren't nearly as online so regional variations of things could exist.

Edit: Apparently it was all over the place in 1994. I don't have the time to watch this all the way through but skipping around you see a lot of lands in front here.

Also black lotus being played without a sleeve lmao.

most US cities that got rid of public transit did so because the silent generation / baby boomers wanted it. They grew up with the idea that owning your own car and driving yourself around was american as gently caress. Everything was less crowded and nobody gave a gently caress about pollution yet, so why not. The cities that actually were very densely populated back then never got rid of their systems, as far as I know.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about what caused Abby Shapiro to go after Madonna. I presume that the Madonna lingerie photo is from a new photo shoot, and that alone was enough to trigger the post. Did Madonna do something else to piss her off?

She just posts stuff that is rage bait to the left and "amen" bait to the right and happened to hit something that made for some hilarious memes. poo poo like this is just great. (mildly NSFW) https://www.reddit.com/r/fakehistoryporn/comments/revrlr/nancy_reagan_on_the_mgm_lot_1949_colorized/

Macdeo Lurjtux posted:

It's doubly funny since the only reason anyone was talking about Madonna was she was trying her hardest to get people to care about her again but she ended up just signal boosting the first lady of fellatio.

Madonna posted her bare breasts on Instagram and then had her pr firm publish a bunch of thinkpieces about how she's too much of a provacatress for America to handle.

Which is hilarious to me because Madonna was nude so readily during the 90s that it was a VERY common joke about her. That's been her M.O. her whole career. America can clearly handle it.

Don't normalize this bullshit. It's hosed up. It's not "normal frat stuff", it's literal abuse. I like his acting, but if you do that poo poo you should be prosecuted in accordance with your crimes.

Why do people think we drink warm beer in the UK?

Do you believe we don't have refrigeration or that we have rejected it?

You probably underestimate how important coldness in beer is to Americans of a certain demographic. I've driven past a handful of small towns that consist of basically a gas station and a bar with a giant electric sign advertising that their beer is ~-3C. Coors, who owns something like 20% of our market share, has always had a marketing angle entirely based around it being cold - cold brewed, cold filtered, indicators when the can is cold, etc.

A beer that is ~10C feels like bathwater to these people.
