Ignoring the content of their arguments which I tend to agree with, I always found skeptic feminist nearly unwatchable in a way that contrapoints isn't. There's a frankness to contra that the former doesn't have. They have like a manufactured edginess to them that always came off looking silly. If I had to guess who in the online anti-reactionary community would kill someone it would be Coughlin, and then a member of skeptic feminist.

Honestly I'm exasperated at having to explain that no, just because there's a woman flying around called Thor, it does not mean that Thor is gone or dead or that he won't be back in like the next story arc. Like these are people who can take Cap being a nazi in stride but god forbid a black girl flies around in an Iron Man suit for a while. I can't convince him that A) Marvel still runs tons of books about white men, B) Marvel's diversification isn't why their sales are plummeting, in fact it's a response and not the cause, and most confusingly C) Marvel isn't killing off its big-name characters and replacing them with minorities. There's room in the massive, massive cosmology of 616 for all of these characters to coexist. Does anyone at least know where I could find sales numbers indicating their readership was down before they started getting inclusive?

I mean the alt-right is undeniably a counter-culture, they've adopted racism and misogyny as their core tenets they're not really the point at the end of the day - it's contrarianism. Being seen pushing back against liberal democratic values that have saturated popular culture for the last 20 or so years. You find a consensus and then resist it because consensus can only be reached through groupthink and groupthink is for sheeple. The good news is that the alt-right as we know it will not survive its recent brush with the mainstream - they got their president, they got their congress, they got their liberal tears, they have "arrived" and already you're seeing the schism between the true believers and the chaos magick fucks who thought the election was a meme. Note that I'm not saying they aren't racist or misogynist in a literal sense - no such thing as performative irony, etc. I just don't think those are hills most of them are willing to die on at the end of the day.
