Wait what? What do you do with WoW classes if Red Mage. The job where you mostly react to procs to fill a meter to look rad is more complex than all of them? :psyduck:

Depends on the class, and with some of them you can talent into more complexity, but one of the main design goals for Battle For Azeroth was removing off-cooldown DPS Buffs. Unfortunately they also did this at the same time that artifact weapons, basically gigantic slabs of class complexity with an extra active skill attached, were removed from the game.

My rotation as a destruction warlock only had a few spells
Immolate(A Damage over Time spell)
Incinerate(Spamable damage)
Conflagrate(Instant damage that made my next spell cast faster)
Chaos Bolt(A Spell that spent a resource built up by immolate and incinerate)
Infernal(Our DPS Cooldown, summons a demon that generates chaos bolt resource)
Rain of Fire(a not so great AOE spell that costs 1.5 Chaos Bolts)

Our choice of pet adds some complexity and we have other utility spells but that's basically it. With Azerite Armor (the replacement for artifact weapons) I could either turn my infernal into even more of a burn phase, add a proc that gives me instant cast incinerates, or increase my damage for the first 20% of a mob's life.

Wow that sounds pretty dull. I'm glad that FFXIV still has some basic complexity. Even Red Mages have OGCD's to deal with.

Here's what you do

1) Make every card give a damage buff

2) Make the buff smaller since it will now have 100% up time

3) Give the Balance a new effect

Yeah ever since Heavensward they've been pushing more personality onto the WoL beyond a blank player slate.

It's not a ton but there are very much people they like, dislike, they have their own opinions on things which can be shown in the dialogue options.

Like that bit about the Warrior of Light going along with Yugiri's plan, it's because they wanted another shot at Zenos. Regardless of what you the player wanted.

Meteor is more often Black Magic in games that have that classification.

Also, Time Mage isn't actually that common a Job, it only appears in FFV, FFT, FFTA(2), and FF12 Zodiac Edition.

Because there are two jobs that rely on the TP/MP split. TP is basically meaningless and can be removed without any real issue but MP matters with Paladin and Dark Knight and giving their moves MP costs would require completely rebuilding them from the ground up.

Ah, okay. I played SCH in the past and just assumed it was cross-class

The saga behind Miasma II is kind of amusing to me.

It was once just an Arcanist skill, used as part of AOE. But then came Stormblood and the Great Skill Culing.

Miasma II was removed from the game, part of the general consolidation of DoTs and AOE nerf. This was fine for Summoner because the job has tons of AOE. But then there was the Scholar. Miasma II had been basically its only AOE after Bane and Shadowflare. Dungeons became hell with Scholars because while White Mage and Astrologicans could Holy/Gravity spam mobs to death SCH was stuck with individual casts of broil.

Naturally this lead to massive outcry by any Scholar player. So Miasma II was very quickly slotted back in as a Scholar exclusive skill with massive potency buffs.

Another series of RPGs made by SE. They're notable for being very experimental.

The series is the brainchild of Akitoshi Kawazu, who worked on Final Fantasy 2 which can basically be considered the ancestor of the series
