Don't forget the guy who put a video on youtube of cooling his sweet mining rig with liquid nitrogen by just kind of pouring it all over everything on the floor in what looked like an unventilated room.

I'll give you guys $10 for a RX 480 or 580. $20 for a 1060, $30 for a 1070, $40 for a 1080, $50 for a 1080Ti. Don't think about it too long, prices are dropping fast!

Facebook Aunt posted:If y'all are sad that you're not making as much as few weeks ago, or your graphics card was never good enough to make any money in the first place, there are other options for having your computer devices pretend to do work for giftcards. Mostly pretending to watch videos with advertisements. Since the necessary computing power is low even phones and tablets can get into it. None of those phones have fallen down yet! But yeah, if you like having extra spare change every week there's apps for that that don't require you to cook yourself to death with video cards.

If you keep your butts in a wallet run by a website/app/exchange, that website has your butts and will soon be "hacked" like they all are.

Steam is no longer supporting Bitcoin https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/1464096684955433613 NiceHash hacked, tens of millions of dollars up in the air https://www.tweaktown.com/news/60060/nicehash-hacked-tens-millions-dollars-up-air/index.html Seems like a good time to stop touching the poop. I think it was mentioned before but there's a bunch of get-paid-to sites you can run with web browsers in VMs or android phones that pay better and use less power than this crypto garbage you guys like to touch. The thread in C&D got archived due to inactivity but it's still there.

For the get-paid-to sites I use with cell phones and VMs I need to include a 1099-MISC for taxes for each even if they didn't request a W9 from me (some do, some don't). I'm not sure if buttcoins are any different. Gift cards/winnings count as income so I'd imagine it's similar, although if you could claim capital gains or losses there may be a different form. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1099msc.pdf

I switched to AnyDesk which is basically the same thing for remote access and have been using iTALC which is a multi-vnc viewing thing for watching VMs on my LAN(s) from a couple of mini pcs. iTALC is made for classrooms so a teacher can watch the student PCs but it's good for keeping an eye on your VMs or whatever if they're on the same LAN. I did the teamviewer "I wasn't using this commercially I swear" form on their website and they reset me to free/personal use but I've been using it for years without this coming up before so I figure they're trying to crack down on the free version, hence the changeover to Anydesk.

I admit that spending money on his setup and even attempting to do something beyond cramming his basement full of GPUs puts him heads above most buttminers, however that still gives him the distinction of being a slightly smarter idiot.
