If you find yourself in Washington State with some extra time, try to hit up the North Cascades.

Most of it can only be seen by hiking/backpacking, but it's the most heavily glaciated area in the US outside of Alaska (Washington has over 3/4 of all glaciers in the lower 48). The elevations are lower than the Rockies, but the mountains start from low elevation, so the vertical relief is comparable to big ranges in the Sierras or Rockies. There's also Rainier obviously which is absolutely gently caress-off huge, but quite crowded.

She doesn't need to go to school to be a minister. Anybody can call themselves a "non-denominational" fundie pastor. Instead of divinity school, she could just put that money towards renting a storefront in a dying stripmall and put up a sign that says something like "Freedom Life Church" and start grifting.

That's a lot nicer than the Gnostic Christian version. Gnostic ideas have been related to those of Buddhism and Neo-Platonism. Such comparisons extremely insulting to these schools. While you don't "gotta hand it" to St. Augustine, Christianity as developed through the Middle Ages was much less stupid.

tl;dr Gnosticism says that the material world is an evil illusion that's the fault of the evil Demiurge, who was the god of the Old Testiment. The OG God was cool, and the Demiurge sucks. Jesus was an son-like emanation from the cool God that went in to some random adult carpenter. Upon crucifixion, the Son of God peaced out and then this poor carpenter bastard found himself back in his body, dying slowly and horrifically.

loving animals. Janitorial work is much more useful than what the vast majority of people do (which is why it's poo poo pay), so at least you can take heart in how essential your labor is. A big part of living under late capitalism is just steadily downgrading the hope and optimism that one has in youth.

I think that everyone that works in offices or whatever should contribute to janitorial work. There wouldn't be nearly as many people pissing all over toilet seats if the toilet seat pissers occasionally had to clean it up themselves. It's not like they do that at home (or I hope not), but it's only when they think they can make it the problem of someone they don't respect.

I'm glad you're honing your poo poo detective skills. Another fun game is to try to make eye contact with people who think you're beneath them. They get really weird about it.

I thought gout was foot pain and usually only in overweight people?

It's also supposed to be very painful, but this is just kind of lightly painful when I put a lot of pressure on one specific toe (left pinky).

I also don't drink alcohol or eat organ meat (like liver, kidney), and some kinds of seafood, such as anchovies, sardines, mussels, scallops, trout, and tuna.

Doesn't seem like gout.
What you’re describing isn’t inconsistent with gout.

Gout most commonly affects the joint at the base of the big toe. Contrary to stereotypes, it’s only weakly related to diet, alcohol use, and weight. Most cases aren’t caused by those factors.

They are great. There's a reason why every alternate reality universe in media has everyone riding around in airships. It just sucks we've got these garbage laws of physics that make them less practical than planes.

Hydrogen can made safe. Hindenberg had more to do with the wildly flammable skin. Without that, it's pretty hard to get any significant combustion going, because there's no O2 in the gas envelopes. Most all gas ballooning (much more popular in Europe) uses hydrogen and it works just fine. Planes already have many thousands of gallons of fuel in the wings anyway.

Grunge was basically invented by a Black woman named Tina Bell who fronted a band called Bam Bam. This guy named Kurt Cobain roadied for them.

I’m a Washington native, and I never heard of her before like 3 years ago (her memory had a revival with BLM). Bam bam’s influence among NW musicians was enormous, but they never caught on with audiences. Tina Bell’s stage presence was something else, but audiences couldn’t accept a punk act being fronted by someone who was simultaneously Black and female.

Fun fact, bam bam’s drummer, Matt Cameron, was the drummer for Soundgarden and then Pearl Jam.
