Water does in fact increase in volume as it is heated

E: seems to be responsible for about 1/3 of sea level rise so not "most"

yeah, just above 1/3rd of sea level rise is heat expansion (everything expands as it gets heated p. much), and the ratio is going to start getting higher as glaciers get smaller. even after all the ice melts, we'll still see a good amount of sea level rise lmao

I've been wokkin on max temps using a high quality induction plate for nine years now, it doesn't come close to what you can do with an oldskool setup, but who cares, the results are still pretty deece, and my gastronomically illiterate dependents don't complain.

there's induction plates specifically designed for woks and similar round bottom cookery out there and afaict work p. well

it's much worse than that. the po river is basically completely dry, so seawater is now over 20km inland up the riverbed, contaminating everything with salt :kheldragar:
i p. much only come to this thread when i start feeling like my mind is going off rails between what i see people doing in my daily life and what i know about climate change, and then something like this pops up and calms me down again

Maybe I'm just a dumb idiot but what are the chances that more solar energy means more energy that would have otherwise been reflected back into space being captured and released as waste heat from whatever it's powering and now being trapped in our little hell-bubble

it's true, but even if you generate all power from solar it won't matter as much as a single coal plant, because it's co2 keeping that energy inside for way longer

the best/most efficnent way of boiling water is e. kettles or induction stoves. fastest, too, even in 120V places
2nd best is probably microwave, since it's still 900W directly into your liquid

or you can use a classic stove and let it dump 300% of the heat needed to boil some water into your apartment in this loving heat lmbo
