I know people have known since industrialisation that poo poo was going wrong, but this point in 1973 when scientists clearly say "we're hosed" and world politics doesn't even skip a beat sits heavy with me at the moment for some reason

I don't know if it was purely parody, but there was an episode of the bureaucracy comedy from Australia called "Utopia" that was about how millions spent on wildlife crossings just funneled the vulnerable species into the waiting jaws of predators who quickly figured out where to stay for an easy meal.

I think all it's going to take is power collapse in one or more areas where major DNS hubs are housed then the internet will be hosed for ages.

If the internet goes then telecommunications, logistics and transport go and I suspect collapse will be very fast if they're majorly disrupted.

We'd better hope the wars / nukes / fires / hypercanes / tornadoes just stay predictable.
